Er, Gauntlets lower the damage?

EDIT: Also, is anyone in the Illuminati NOT Gnosis? I have yet to see or hear about anyone on another path.
Gregori2010-06-29 03:26:02
Seems so!

Yes, Aiyana is not Gnosis. I don't know if anyone else is not, but mechanically Gnosis is the best one. RPly, the one Aiyana took is the best IMHO.
Razenth2010-06-29 03:30:08
Why is gnosis best? Just wanted to know.
Gregori2010-06-29 03:34:12
Gnosis pathway means permanent stable aura (health/mana/ego regen) which is useful in everything, plus matching with gnosis gauntlets means a magic damage buff as well.
Razenth2010-06-29 03:35:28
Are the other auras any good? Cause I mean, if they aren't, wouldn't it be better to just choose a pathway that gives a free mutation in a body part that has two good ones?
Genos2010-06-29 03:37:11
Just from the ability perspective I would go Whispers but I like Psychedelia for the RP.
Unknown2010-06-29 03:43:16
I intend to go Whispers, both for RP and abilities.
Unknown2010-06-29 03:46:03
Yeah, my numbers work out with Gregori's. Less damage with gauntlets of gnosis on npcs than without them. Both are worse than regular old cosmicfire, though.
Razenth2010-06-29 03:48:03
Greg's numbers show crushes been better.

576 is better than 860? laugh.gif

I meant they match up in so far as gauntlets vs no gauntlets. For me, cosmicfire is actually harder hitting. This is probably because I have one more int than Gregori, plus I have a magic enhancement runes. The woes of making a guardian symbol attack non-magic based.
Shiri2010-06-29 04:21:05
I'm not convinced gnosis is best. The regen effect is PUNY. I went for it thinking it would be, but it was doing like 40 per 10 second tick. I'll probably stick with it for RP though.
Razenth2010-06-29 04:28:29
Gauntlets seem far superior if they're str based then. Greg has 12 str, 18 int. I have 17 str 18 int as Demi human, AND I can Geburah to get a few more.

EDIT: Granted, he could probably too.
Xiel2010-06-29 04:40:27
I wonder if the additional damage being attributed to Gauntlets on top of the Hands base attack is being applied to denizens as well as players? Cause, with the AB clarifications I've been asking for, Gauntlets was found to have a Magical source, so a magic damage rune would help bump that even more IF the additional Gauntlets damage was being applied in the first place.

Not sure why you notice so little effect. With stable aura, demi regen, and enchantable regens I find I sip seldom and with just stable I find it covers the passive drains of Fusion perfectly where as before I was consuming beast balances to heal that back. If it wasn't for the taxing willpower drain I could keep fusion up indefinitely without ever sipping (just from the passives, still sipping on the damage of course)

I suppose it could be the difference between demi and novice, but again where I was either sipping or beast healing to cover the passives, I do neither with stable aura. Plus I can put up either of the other two. Not to mention, that more regen is always good.

Since Nejii didn't leave Serenwilde, it's probably because he's on a puny alt with low h/m/e pools, and since regen scales to max it looks puny to him.

I realise this tongue.gif He also realises that I realise this. Cause I know who he is.

Actually, now that you mention it, when you hit a player whilst wearing gauntlets, you get a secondary damage line for the magic damage. When you hit a denizen you don't.
