Illuminati/Hallifax Entourages

Ok, so I filed this as an envoy report hoping it could get finalised despite the deadline being passed for reports. It doesn't look like it will, which is understandable, but I really don't think we should have to wait 1.5 - 2 months for something that is pretty much a backbone of entourage combat. So I am going to post the report here and hope that the Admins take pity on us and let us have a much needed skill sooner rather than later.

Report #412 Skillset: Transmology Skill: New
Guild: Illuminati Status: Unsubmitted
Problem: Currently we have no way to recall or cloak our entities. This cause two issues, one being that if we ever lose our entities we either have to logoff, die, or find them in the vast reaches of wherever they could be and order them one by one to refollow, given combat and the losing of entourage to be a common thing, this is cumbersome. The second is that a room full of entities is a spammy thing... a room full of 10+ people's entities more so. This problem affects Hallifax too, we imagine, so the fix should be for them as well

Solution #1: Add 'faereturn'/'channels' and 'faecloak' type skills to Transmology and Harmonics
Solution #2: Provide a solution here.
Solution #3: Provide a solution here.

I agree. Both Harmonics and Transmology can use the cloak equivalent to hide their spammy entourages, and a return/channels idea would benefit the Illuminati well.

Agree with this entirely. We don't have the problem of losing crystals, but it'd be nice to have a def so we can summon without balance or summon all the gems at once. We have very spammy room descs, too, as everyone's crystals shows up on their QL desc. Activating/deactivating crystals is also exceptionally spammy, so if a cloak skill would mask that for the room, that'd be good.

Gregori2010-06-30 00:29:29
Also, we have no way to dismiss our ents if need be.
Sylphas2010-06-30 00:59:30
Crystals are also almost as spammy as a demesne in groups, except whereas you can only have one demense in a room, you can conceiveably have several researchers.
Kaalak2010-06-30 04:21:50
Completely agree.

Signed. Yesplz.
Chalcedony2010-07-01 23:54:14
Yes please.

If you die in a raid, or defending in one, then your ents are sitting ducks waiting to be killed.
And uses up tons of flesh. ._.

The suggestion seems like a complete no-brainer. Why the Envoy report has to also be posted here, though, I don't get. Are you hoping it'll be implemented ASAP and you can replace your report with something more Envoy-ish?

Yes.

I was hoping it would be done now(soon) so I could envoy something less immediate. Hence, as I said, I was posting it here hoping it could done sooner rather than later. Given the envoy turn around time it would be all of July, then halfway through to end of August before the report would come to pass. This is the sort of thing we should not have to be waiting 2 months for, and should have had from the start.

Need this, please.

So I am bumping this thread again.

It is getting silly that illuminati need to go planar hunting to find their ents, because they either died while raiding so their ents are stuck on some odd plane, were jumped and for one reason or another lost their ents, left them on prime somewhere in order to go turn in wads and not give them to the wrong thing, or what have you.

Ent recall is pretty much a standard for any entourage based class in any IRE game there is. There are many reasons one can lose their ents and only a couple of them are easily solveable with a refollow alias.

Again, waiting over a month for something that should have been in the skillset from the start is ridiculous. We can't even begin to look at what issues Illuminati might have in combat with their ents involved because it's so easy to remove an Illuminati from his/her ents that they do not pose any problem.

Please, would definitely like this!

And a faecloak like thing, cause, walking paragraphs make kittens and puppies cry. Think of the baby animals. sad.gif
Chalcedony2010-07-13 00:56:03
It's really upsetting to have to sit at the Flame and wait for people to be merciful and kill my ents.

Or know that my ents are there, sitting ducks, even though I could have recalled them in the five~ten minutes it takes for someone to notice that they're still there.

EDIT: And the flesh consumption, oh my god. It's not enough that we consume flesh in the arena, but we also can't keep from wasting power either... Wah. -sadbird-

I don't have objections to any of this per se, but it's not something we can snap our fingers and do. We are mildly tied up right now so expecting us to get it done RIGHT NOW DAMNIT by bumping a thread is probably not going to happen. Sorry!

Resources?

Limitations?

A designer knows not these things.

I realize that you don't always have the time or people to do this, but posting in a thread and acknowledging its existence does a lot! This way, it lets us know that we are being heard on this issue and we're (well, maybe not knowing this forum) less likely to whine and complain. laugh.gif

Bumping this for the sake of bringing it up. It's now August 1st, and envoy reports are already moving very slowly - yet we are an ent-using class that leans on their usage to help us. Without them working in an appropriate manner, we can't even begin to question certain balances or uses of Transmology. We have no way to recall all our ents in one concise crowd, or to dismiss them if we lose them. This is kind of irritating, especially when it should have been something of sheer simple design to give us an ent call skill in the first place upon the skillset even being designed.
Furien2010-08-01 07:45:42
Seconding this.

Been over a month and almost everything relating to the guild still isn't addressed - no faecall, no cloak, several dysfunctional or otherwise broken skills, and still no special report.

I'm willing to bet that everything is being postponed for the Endgame changes, so I guess I'm torn between two characters in this regard.

Just, however you look at it: I shouldn't have to be thanking the players for killing my entities just so I can resummon them. This is all kinds of ridiculous and it's getting increasingly harder to be diplomatic about it.
Noola2010-08-01 07:47:55
Adding my voice to the support and to the length of the thread so the Admin will take notice of it! cheer.gif
Sylphas2010-08-01 07:51:33
You guys can't even summon new ones until the old die? That seems ridiculous given the fact that even though we have faecall, we can still resummon if we really want to, whether the fae is dead or alive.
