ARIX WON!!!
Yeah. Blows your mind, doesn't it?

---

It was supposed to be a routine mission.

But something went wrong. Horribly wrong. The enemy was underestimated. And with civilians in the crossfire... this can only end badly. With all communication locked out of the area, and dangerous enemies all around, you cannot even trust the guy next to you.

Welcome to the heart of the Undernet.

Welcome to Megaman Mafia.

It is now day one

Power explanation:
QUOTE
Everyone has five "powers". Scan, Scan Self, Slot-in, Snatch and Swap (individual Navi may have other powers as well). You can use SCAN, SNATCH and SWAP a total of three times each day in any combination, OR, you may use SCAN SELF. The powers can be used during day and night.

SCAN: Creates a battlechip for a weak power.
SCAN SELF: Creates a battlechip of your Navi.
SLOT-IN: Activates a battlechip. Remember to include a target if the chip needs one.
SNATCH: Try to steal a chip from someone else. Works about half the time.
SWAP: Give up one of your own chips to acquire one from someone else.

Example rolepost.

Normal Navi X

You're a Normal Navi. The non-customized thing that every average joe has. There's really nothing outstanding about you, but at least you're functional.

You win with the town.

Chips: Cannon (target someone to reduce the number of votes required to lynch him or her) Sword (Doublevote)
NaviChip: NorNaviX (Block someone from voting)

So the player who had Normal Navi X could use "SCAN" to get a Cannon chip or a sword chip up to three times, or SCAN SELF to get the Navichip.

SCAN and SCANSELF is done through PMs. There's no real syntax, so just tell me how many chips you want to make, and of which type. It isn't randomly decided which you get. If you have more than one chip to choose from then just PM me (I want two cannon and one sword chip) and you'll have them. You only get your own chips through scanning (the ones shown in your rolepm) and creating navichips costs three actions instead of just one. Chips last forever, but are lost when you are deleted. Swap and Snatch both work and cost actions even if your target has no chips. With snatch, you will get a notification that there were no chips to steal if you would have succeeded. If you swap, you lose your chip and get nothing in return.

SLOT-IN does not use any action. As long as you have a chip, you can slot-in. You can slot in multiple chips at a time too. Such as "SLOT IN Cannon Shotgun Sword. Target Kiradawea". And then I'd be hit with the effect of all three chips. Also, it should be noted that chips don't stack, unless specified otherwise.

SNATCH and SWAP uses an action of which you have three each day. You use those two actions to get powers you wouldn't have access to otherwise. For example getting a doctoring chip from the Navi capable of making those chips.

You can SCAN, SNATCH and SWAP anytime you want. However, no more than three times total each day.

All rolePMs should be out. If you didn't get one, notify me.

New rules that you must read despite the obnoxious bolding and nagging for they have been changed!!!

1. Voting is best done in the format Vote: Kiradawea. Bolding makes it easier for me to catch while I skim the thread.
2. Once a majority is reached, it is twilight. No unvoting or powers will change this.
3. Days end when a lynch or no lynch consensus is reached. Alternatively when a deadline sets in.
4. After the day ends and the lynching occurs, it is Night. If you do not declare any night-action within 48 hours, I will count that as ‘No Action’. Please send a
5. The next day starts as soon as I get all the actions or the night time is up.
6. No editing posts.
7. If you do not post for 48 hours, you will vote for yourself. After another 24 hours, you will be replaced or modvigged (though I'm a bit merciful if you give advance notification)
8. The day has a moving deadline. 36 hours after the last non-mod post, the day ends.

Somehow, my attempt to join this game got lost. losewings.gif

Looks more like Kira cut it off at a certain number of people, Siam. You're probably on a replacement list (although the auto-vote/die thing makes that less used).

Could we get all the generic chip rules (e.g. scan, snatch, swap, limits, etc.) put at the top of this thread so I don't need to crossreference?

So. I'm here. I'm not going to random vote, because I don't believe them to be useful, especially not this early.
Noola2010-08-06 13:55:28
I'm assuming this is Day 1, right?
Unknown2010-08-06 13:56:02
So, if anyone uses daytime powers, we'll know. Not sure if anyone has enough knowledge of Megaman to definitely place powers. Though I suppose that's ultimately useless until we determine whether a certain sect of Megaman characters are Mafia or if it's not theme-related.
Noola2010-08-06 14:00:04
I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I know nothin about Megaman (a wiki link on the first post would be helpful for those of us who're out of the know *nudgeKira*) so I hope folks won't mind my not knowing details. laugh.gif

I've never played the first day of a Mafia game without random voting. It seems blasphemous or something! So, I'm gonna random Vote for Jack.

There's also the whole "getting another person's chip" and "randomly getting a weak version of someone's chip", which is how I interpret swap and scan. You'd have trouble definitively sorting out single power displays from that - you'd need repeated actions, or an ability to scan their specific Navi and get its battlechip (or even just the specs).

Oh has day one started? I wasn't sure so I didn't post when I got up. laugh.gif

Ah, true enough. How many uses of a 'weak' power would it take to attribute it as not stolen/swapped? Also, for Kira more than anyone else, do chips carry over from day to the next?

Noola and anyone else who needs it, that's the specific version of Megaman that this is based on, its pretty different from the other versions of the Megaman series.

I just saw this. The way I read the rules you don't scan other Navi. You have your powers in your role PM, you scan or scanself to get a battlechip of those powers, you then slot in that battlechip to use the power. Snatch and Swap are the only abilities that let you take battlechips and you can only do that if someone has already used scan or scanself.

I might be wrong. Some full rules posted might be nice.

I believe that is how it works too, at least from the way Kira said it in the sign up thread.
Diamondais2010-08-06 15:54:13
Here's the chip stuff, hopefully Kira will post them to the first post:

CODE
Everyone has five "powers". Scan, Scan Self, Slot-in, Snatch and Swap (individual Navi may have other powers as well). You can use SCAN, SNATCH and SWAP a total of three times each day in any combination, OR, you may use SCAN SELF. The powers can be used during day and night.

The chip stuff is going to take some getting used to. I'm guessing during the day we're forming the chips and at night we're using them? (this has probably been said on the other thread now that I think about it doh.gif)

Unknown2010-08-06 15:59:49
I believe we can form and use chips during the day and at night.
Unknown2010-08-06 16:09:29
Yea. And all actions except Slot-In (actually using the chips) are hidden. So we'll know whenever someone targets someone else and we'll know the name of the power (and I imagine the effect will be figured out shortly after each chip is used).
Unknown2010-08-06 16:11:01
Slight correction: you can use chips during the day/night, but you can only form/steal/swap chips during the day.
Unknown2010-08-06 16:18:24
All I know about Megaman is that it's too hard and impossible to beat. Megaman 10 anyway.
Noola2010-08-06 16:19:15
Ok, so, if I did SCAN, I'd get a random chip with some random weak power that I could then SLOT-IN and use? Or, would it activate a power I already have, which I would then SLOT-IN to use?
Unknown2010-08-06 16:20:29
It will activate one of the powers you have which you can then slot in.
