I'm looking for energy cube 276236. This thing was stolen from my enchanter Aaralyn in Celest. I've paid over 51k in terms of powerstones and energycubes to have them created, only to be stolen from.
Personally, I would see this in Achaea, not in Lusternia, and I want my goods back. Might have lost hope on the rest, but I want my items back.
I also know that this has been happening in Celest, Serenwilde, and Magnagora.
Egh, something that may be of interest to people is the following:
Last time I saw the theft it was with Aaralyn, Dakine and I (Sakr). An icewall was placed up, and the moment it came down by I placed another one.
A figure coalesced, took on the form of 2 different people before walking in, taking the cube and leaving.
Coalesce is a mythical ability in dreamweaving that lets you create a body around your dreamweaving figure.
Impersonate is a gifted skill in dramatics, that lets you fool others into believing that you are someone that you are not.
Since the person couldn't be seen, and picking up things isn't aggressive, that would mean the person also wore a Marauder's Mask, which is worth 800 credits
So egh, I don't know. Hallifax is out of the question, as the only dreamweavers that are in the guild are both poor and not logged in. Nobody in Celest, as they were a target I'm guessing. Serenwilde was affected, and Mag as well, but I really don't know...

That sucks. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how you can turn the full force of the playerbase's disgust with thieving against the thief until you know who it is.
This makes me wonder though, does dropping an eye sigil on the ground in the enchantment room disrupt enchanting or something?
Diamondais2010-08-04 19:36:49
Are you sure it's impersonate? That's just voice.
It really sucks that this has happened

I blame Ethelon!
Anisu2010-08-04 20:13:56
Tbh this sounds more like a stealth user ghostwalking and then masquerading (and possibly using deepcover).
Also you are better of making a topic asking the admins to just solve this either using a code like shops that prevents all but the item owner to pick it up, or to allow an enchanter to enchant items from the inventory. Getting it back will be unlikely.

Or even better, give a skill to a group of people (maybe even enchanters themselves?) that they have to use beforehand to block theft.
That way, there's a viable method for stopping thievery, and if it isn't used, there's an actual player mistake to blame and not a bug in the code.

No one's answered my question! Does dropping an eye sigil on the ground in the enchanting room mess up enchanting?
Sakr2010-08-04 20:27:26
No, it does not..
Egh, if a door can be created with permission, a reinforced door in each enchanters place, and having enchanting and being in the city for that enchanters room, allows you access to opening and closing the door. Would that be a viable solution?
EDIT: The problem I see is a person could pick up the skill and open the door to use it, steal, then drop the skill. Or that it would block people from other allied organizations to come in and use it

no and I suspect the enchanting room had one. Most enchanting rooms are equipped with eye, monolith and palm and if they weren't the fact they placed an icewall makes me think they would have dropped them.
Noola2010-08-04 20:30:41
If there was an eye sigil it couldn't have been a dreamweaver then.
Sakr2010-08-04 20:33:35
that's the beauty of coalence, you can form your body outside, change how you look, who you are, enter and leave.
There were eye sigils within the room. I don't think anyone would put them as an entire strip around the vincity of the room. Also, it would be nice to have a sigil that would see through the things dramatics puts through. but I don't know.
When I witnessed the theft, I was one room outside of the enchanting room. There were no eye sigils on the ground there.

It's two different classes that do Dreamweave and have the ability to change their appearance. We're trying to help you narrow down who would've done it.
Noola2010-08-04 20:37:26
Doesn't Coalesce have a loooooong eq?
Anisu2010-08-04 20:40:48
Allow me to help further: the skill of changing in to someone else is stealth
Stealth can only be held by 2 monk guilds: Nekotai and Ninjakari (well or rogues still having these guildskills)
The only other skill to hide identity is mask, but this gives 'a masked'
Only the last can be a dreamweaver.

egh, thank you guys.
Noola2010-08-04 20:43:48
It really doesn't sound like a dreamweaver to me, based on all this. If I were gonna use a dreamweaving ability to steal, it wouldn't be coalesce, cause it's got that long eq where you're just standing there, possibly in enemy territory. I'd use envelop. But, if there was an eye sigil, that wouldn't work at all, cause a dreamweaver couldn't go in the room. AND I don't know if you'd have seen anyone like you say you did, if envelop was used either.
I think it must've been one of the Monks.
eta: Apparently, I'm working on old info. Eye sigils will not keep the dreamweaver from entering in dreambody anymore (they used to! I know they did!), however, it does prevent enveloping, so that still wouldn't have been used and I still think it must've been one of the Monks.

Don't think it ever worked that way. Eye sigils block souls, and some dreamweaving skills (such as coalesce and envelope)

No, I'm pretty sure that a couple of years ago, they blocked dreambodies - anyone 'out of phase.'

A log would be really really really really helpful, because then we can throw off any preconceptions you might have about what went on and get just the facts.
