From the ground up, I've fallen in love with the dracnari racial RP. However I've run into one situation that stops me cold on every front whenever I try to play one for an extended period of time. Dracnari suck at growing. They do not influence well, they do not hunt well.
Their sip penalty means that I can hunt more rewarding prey as an (unspecialized faeling/insert other fragile race here) using the same set of skills at the same circle (I've had this problem even into the mid 80's where any forward progress has ground to a halt on dracnari characters I've played). Their 'benefits' like basking and the regeneration are excellent flavor, but given the lack of situations where they are useful they remain precisely that, pure flavor. I feel like I'm being forced to choose between incredible roleplay opportunity, and the ability to grow a character.
Even playing a Gaudiguch Dracnari doesn't help, as the massive sip penalty makes no amount of stat-shuffling fix the hunting penalty the race experiences, and all of them have average charisma at best, which makes influencing less than a great proposition. Every other race has some possible way they can grow well, except for the dracnari race.
Where am I going with this?
My idea isn't very refined, but to provide this race with incredible flavor for RP some way of growing, be it influencing or hunting. Anything would be great. I'm just sad that practical issues (like being high enough circle to hunt for gold effectively) mean that the Dracnari will have to remain something to sit on the shelf until I can reach a high circle and then switch over once the issues blocking growth no longer matter.
If I'm just not realizing something obvious, or if I'm alone in experiencing this conundrum feel free to let me know so I won't look like an idiot voicing my frustrations in the future. If you've felt the same issues and have something a little more refined than the 'give us some way to grow' that I came up with, I'd appreciate it if you spoke up as well.

Go have a chat with Celest. You two can cry together.
What I mean is, a lot of the races are f***ed up, despite the two or three re-balancings done in the past.

Pyro and Illu dracnari have a base of 13 charisma. With Highmagic Netzach (and maybe populus in Rituals for Illu) you'll have 14/15 charisma. More than enough to influence well. Get a beauty enchant, some perfume, and Trans Influence and you'll do great.
Also, sip penalties don't affect non-sipping healing. You can use Laetitia to heal up quicker, or a golden horn if you aren't a ritualist.

Are you carrying a scroll of healing and sparkleberries? Not as cheap as vial sipping, but can help offset the elixir thing. Also, with a fire resistance, try to see if you can hunt things that do that kind of damage?

Specced Dracnari hunt and influence just fine. The sip penalty sucks, but it is not a burden that can't be overcome. Specced Dracnari Guardian bashing is a joke, but then again guardian bashing is a joke to begin with. We just have the unlucky situation of our bashing attack being strength based, our str being lowered for being specced, and our gauntlets not increasing damage like they are supposed too.
