Fonts in MUSHclient

Now that I've bashed my way up to 80 (well, I hit the Master Hunter achievement RIGHT when I leveled up, so I did 80 yesterday), I've decided to take some time to clean up some of my old triggers and generally make MUSH nicer.
First thing is to get a new font.
I've been using the Fixedsys font (that I believe is default), but I stopped liking it a while ago. Looking around I see that most the fonts I like are not listed, many are ridiculous to try and read, and that spacing gets really weird. Any suggestions?

Also, I really want to know if it's possible to have only certain things a specific font. Can triggers appear in a different font, or change the font? Does the entire log have to be the same font? Any tips for maps? Because Fixedsys has nice (though large) maps and other fonts look like a cat slept on a keyboard without letters.

I use Lucida Console, personally. I recommend you always use a fixed width font for a MUD. The size and weight of it are up to you.

My great love is Courier New, personally.

I use Courier New size 9. Lots of love for it.

I wish I had known about the fixed width thing sooner! I think I'm leaning towards Courier New, though I question how well I will read it in combat.
Can new fonts be installed to MUSH? It doesn't have any the fonts I usually use.

And is there a way to make any part appear of the output appear differently than the rest?

Any font you install into Windows' fonts directory should appear for use in MUSHclient. The only way I know of to change fonts of parts of the output is to use miniwindows. So, if you capture your map display to a miniwindow, like my Treant plugin does, you can set that font to be anything you like without affecting the main display text.

As good a thread as any to begin posting, seeing I love fonts.

May I recommend a fixed width font that I use called Bowman? It is available here.

With ClearType ruining the legibility of Courier New for me, I've switched to Dina, size 9. Nice and crisp.

Mushclient actually has its own font directory. It doesn't take from windows fonts. You have to put the fonts you want to use in Mush's directory itself.

DejaVu Sans Mono

Consolas is nice too.

Thanks, Gregori. I had forgotten about the separate fonts directory. Now, if only I could figure out how one imports fonts, since throwing a TrueType font file in there doesn't do anything...
