Since most my teachers don't accept reading in their classes and I'm incapable of listening to them, I've found that writing is an acceptable way to pass the time in class. And significantly more productive than any alternative I can think of. Among the things I have begun to write is a story I've been researching and forming a background for a couple years, but I need your help!

I need ideas for characters: students around approx. 20 years old attending a very rather prestigious magic college. If you are thinking Harry Potter, that's wrong. Closest I can think of is what Pug did in the books by Raymond Fiest (more specifically: the gifted he took to his more private island) ((and even that isn't very accurate)) (((yes I play/ed MKO))).

ANYWAYS! I have about 15 students so far, about half with a moderate back story/personal plot. I need AT LEAST 15 more, ideally 30 more. Anything after that is just awesome.

Your goal: come up with more students for the class. I'm only looking for something simple: Orphan on Tuition and Child of Organized Crime Leader are two examples. Backgrounds or anything else you wish to add is appreciated, but understand that these will be killed off at some point unless I really like the idea. I already have the first three or so to be die, but the class can only get smaller once it starts.

Race: Pretty much anything. Fantasy races are more accepted, but 'alien' would fit too. Humanoid is preferred, but by no means required. However, if it won't fit in a classroom and there isn't a good reason how it could, probably wont be used.
Personality: Doesn't matter. Good, bad, neutral. Playful or misanthropic, anything goes. Most the ones I have are already a bit gloomy, but remember most will die. No, they do not know this.
Other: I want to avoid orcs, goblins, kobold, stupid aliens, or anything similar. Doesn't need to be highly intelligent, but at least average is required.

Will edit if someone points out something crucial I left out. The plot is not crucial.

Any and all ideas/suggestions/other is appreciated!

If this ends up looking like a manga class-roster:
1) They will be a little more cheerful than I am looking for (though certainly accepted!)
2) I will take it as a sign it came out right! smile.gif

I had a character a I made up a at least 6 years ago, who I guess would fit there.

I've always been so horrible with coming up with names, and I somehow ended up calling her Trail. <__<;

She was a student studying to specialize in potions/brewing/alchemy/whatever you want to call it. She wasn't fond of the person she got stuck with for an apprenticeship, who paid the barest amount of attention he could get away with. She would stress out about her studies a lot, but be fairly cheerful and friendly aside from that. She once had a rather minor accident from trying to cover up the bitter taste of some potion by adding some blueberry juice, which didn't react well with that particular potion and caused it harmless explode, except for staining everything in the vicinity blue. She worries herself over making some other similar mistake someday that has a more disastrous result then painting her face and hair blue.

Never had a race pinned down, but always pictured her as rather short and with red hair. Also saw her as wearing some big brown bow a lot.

Dunno if this would fit in with your prestigious college, but in my little story had her working as a waitress in some town tavern when she wasn't studying.

Actually that fits unusually well with an idea I accidentally started toying with this week. Thanks for the idea! I like this one happy.gif
