Here I sit, sipping my tea and waiting out the longest five hours of my day for the west coast release of Fable 3. While I've learned not to put too much stock in Mr. Molyneux (or his interview tangents on intellectual history and the will to power, holy cow, give it a rest), from what I understand the features that have been confirmed sound quite nice, and I'm hoping to lose a few hours of sleep over it tonight. Supposedly, the online game play is going to be a bit more interesting this round too.
We will see...
We will see...

I'd get it if I had the money. But I'm really broke.

Aww, that's too bad...
I would totally spot you, if, you know, I knew you were a real person.
Alas, bots.

Fallout: New Vegas is superior. Trust me.

Apples and oranges, sir. Apples and oranges, and I've already just had a slice of the apple pie.

I'd want both. And then goes all the other stuff I'd have to buy over the next month or two...

So, I got the game a couple of hours ago and just now fired her up. Some initial thoughts...
- Character models and environment are very similar to its predecessors, but a little sharper and more well-shaded.
- Important NPCs are more abundant and have stronger, more personal... personalities.
- Plot kicks off with a good share of that drama we were promised, but feels a little fast-paced. This is probably the sort of game you want to savor, rather than rush through. Kick your feet up at the tavern, have a burping contest with an eight year-old, you know- role play.
- Moral ambiguity. Nuff said.
- The combat is classic (very fluid), but the controls are a little touchy.
- Costumes are wonderful. No longer is the coolest outfit in the game an assassin's shirt and matching farmer's trousers. Some clothes come in sets, but you can mix and match to your heart's content.
- Game DOES have chickens.
Don't take my word for it, though- I'm easily impressed. I am going to play for a bit more. Thus far though, it's looking pretty good.

I'll probably look into renting it next year when I'm back in Canada, unless my flatmate gets it then I'll probably ask to give it a try. Silly regional settings.

Never played part I, but did have a blast playing part II, so will be getting this. As for the apples and oranges, Fallout NV is something I am most likely holding off on buying till there will be a GOTY release which includes all DLC and stuff, but that also has to do with being an xbox player.

Yeah, that's a really good point. Even though down-loadable content is quickly becoming the status quo for games (Fable 3 has hopped aboard that boat), Bethesda with its sandbox RPGs is notorious for re-releasing games with extra content, and more often than not the fix for some game-breaking glitch.
Lots more on Fable 3, but I need to sleep for a while. Happy gaming!

Hopefully I'll be able to get it soon. However it is lower on my list of games. Cataclysm first!!

Fable 3 sounds awesome, but what I'm really waiting for is Guildwars 2.

There is a simple way. We just play good games.

So! I managed to play through the entire game, and even managed to have a pretty good time doing it. The game isn't nearly as lengthy as I would have liked it to be, I get the impression that our British designers defer on what makes a good game great, but it's a fun, fairly time-consuming adventure. If anyone has any questions about the game, needs a hand questing, or would like to knock me up on co-op, send me a PM or post here.

That is a weird gamertag.
