So what is being allowed and what is not being allowed? Publicly available only things or also including ascendance, refresh etc?

If its things available to everyone then the list is as follows:
- Bromide
- Heal scroll
- Sparkleberry (or equiv herb based on domoth)
- Horn to heal ego
- Beast healing
- Artifacts

Ascension powers, guild skills, and of course refreshes and such arent listed.

Is this the goal or do we have other things to add/remove?

EDIT: Edited to include beast healing.

Personally I'd be fine with limiting it to the above, and leave out demi-powers, ascendant-powers and guildskills. Makes for a nice, even playing field.
Kiradawea2011-01-09 00:09:41
What about beast heal ego?
Ssaliss2011-01-09 00:10:22
Generally available skill, so sure. Costs a little more than a ring with beauty, perhaps, but generally available nonetheless.

Whats the thoughts on shrine powers?

What makes Justice so different from the other events? Going to block everyone from using special guild skills because they present an advantage? Are there going to be rules for the Death challenge? War? Not all things are going to be equal, I'm afraid.

I understand the sentiment behind the proposed limitations but all that really needs blocking are trueheal/dfire/refresh

My take on his is post is that they are always there. There were rules last Justice, and there will be rules this Justice. He just wants to know what they are.

Agreed, there are bound to be limitations.
Lendren2011-01-09 02:18:56
It would certainly be nice to know a little in advance.
Ileein2011-01-09 02:20:31
I think the idea is meant to be that Justice is the challenge where everyone starts on a relatively even playing field-- y'know, what with the ideal of Justice and everything. Granted, nothing's that clean-cut in practice, but I think that's what's at the core of this.
Furien2011-01-09 02:21:59
If we want to have guild skills allowed I'm sure everyone will be fine facing off against roulade-spamming debate-tanking Bards like the ones that dominated and/or won the competition last year.

Lulz.

Nah, that's not it.

Either ban nothing or ban them all.
Unknown2011-01-09 03:32:08
I would be in favour of only banning shrine heal, or whatever it is, because it is SPAMMY AS censor.gif. I really wanted to try to kill Laysus and all the others that showed up with it constantly ticcing away last year, during the long, long wait for seeding.
Unknown2011-01-09 03:38:12
I'm really curious what the restrictions are for this. I can think of things better than roulade-spamming bards, so would rather have the rules clarified so no one complains afterwards.
Daraius2011-01-09 05:42:45
No dramatics, no bromides, no racial regeneration of any kind. Set every participant at a flat 12 charisma and 4000 ego. Stage each debate on an empty black field crisscrossed with pale grid lines. If you hit your opponent's jetwall, you're derezzed and disqualified.
Shiri2011-01-09 08:15:20
No items, fox only, final destination.

(Fox only? I guess I win by default, yay.)
Aerotan2011-01-09 08:58:38
You are far from the only fox in Serenwilde, Shiribot.

Roulade is handy but hardly the biggest uneven playing field factor (and hardly the only heal-your-own-ego skill out there).

It is how I won as a faeling actually... fastest and strongest ego healing skill. I didnt have beast healing in my day, but I remember shrine heals all ran out before the top 8 even.

I remember roulade was asked about but I cant remember last years rules. Would love a heads up from admin please?

(10,000 ego with roulade + sparkleberry + scroll is pretty nasty with a lvl 3 sip)
Gleip2011-01-10 16:16:18
Clearly, we should ban Faeling due to being OP.
