Just as you can CHALLENGE to challege them to a spar, I suggest a new arena mode wherein you DEBATE CHALLENGE to be sent into the arena peaced with the expectation that you will debate eachother. When one person shatters the other, they win the spar and exit the arena, as if they had killed someone in a normal spar.

Why not just declare and debate each other if it's under the assumption that you're not looking to fully kill each other anyway?

Because then you have to wait until the arena declares it a draw after the debate to escape.

I think he means "Why not do it out of the arena", which is my question as well.

Debate shattering probably makes it a bit inconvenient to practice stuff out of arena.

I guess shattering would hamper things if you wanted to debate constantly, but that 10min down time goes by fast if you do other things while you wait.

Go for it, I suppose, if folk don't like the pause in between.
