Hope y'all are having a Merry Christmas today. It has been good for me. It's been my first Christmas back home in the U.S. since 2008, so it's been great to be able to spend the time with my family and old friends.

Also, it's been a break from laying under my little sister's car(she just turned 16 on Friday) and bathing in gasoline while trying to get it fixed up for her.

Hope the holidays are going well for everybody else.

Not great! Started off well, and then my brother got into the medicine cabinet again, and everything went south.

Holidays have been a fun food ride through buko pandan, leche flan, black forest cakes, rice cakes, sago't gulaman, spaghetti, queso de bola, and more! And we're just around halfway through, so I expect to be noticeably chubbier by the end of the season :)

I did get kind of tired of fruit salad after my first christmas in the Philippines though, but that's because as missionaries we were visiting a ton of people....so we kept getting offered it over and over.......

I know it's not desert, but I could go for some pork adobo right now :(
