Was wondering if the rules would be posted like the day before or if the divine assumed we knew what they would be.
Last year I believe all the following lost you the hamster:
- Being moved to air
- Using magic travel
- Going indoors I believe
- Entering org territories.
What I was not sure about...
- If gust counted as magic movement
- If trees counted as moving elevations
Anything I am missing? Or a correction?
:) Chaos is always alot of fun, and its fun to see someone that crazy.

Gust is magic. Stopped by distort/Night Bonds.

Brume stops sky elevation, doesn't count as going indoors. Are you trying to make a point here that everyone else has been getting at for ages? :P
Unknown2012-01-12 19:44:15
Brumetower sure helped Glom win Chaos these past few years, yeah.
Vadi2012-01-12 19:58:28
I think you'll need to expand on the possible sarcasm for those who don't know. The player lost the item when they were thrown into the air even if the action didn't complete.
Enyalida2012-01-12 19:59:38
Indeed, until that was changed, so that brume is the only method to stop being flung into the air.
Vadi2012-01-12 20:21:19
Oh, so now that it's changed, it's an issue... well, I'd love for the half-insanity Mags to get to be changed too. Why should people have an advantage in their skills, right?
Easily spammable grief skills like fling should be done away with for this event. It doesn't take a lot of skill to autowalk to somebody while holding down the fling button, which will take no balances until there's a target :)
(among other targetted insta-displace skills, and probably the Shamanism Sky as well - given how Land is convenient this way and doens't do anything with no enemies)

That's fine, though I'd point out that all orgs have access to a fling of some sort, so it's far more even. Absolutely everyone has access to a gust enchant, and I'm fairly sure that it works on the same principle (can spam point until you have a target). Everyone does not have access to skills that 100% stop gusting or flinging though, in fact, no one but Night users do! We've all got access to shrine distort though, I guess.
Rika2012-01-12 20:32:57
That is probably a design issue more than a balance issue. Do the admins want to make it so the hamster is easily knocked off someone, or do they want to make it so you actually need to kill them?
Vadi2012-01-12 20:39:48
Everyone has access to walls, that stops gust 100%. This can go on and on, so I like Rika's question better.
Unknown2012-01-12 21:03:25
There is no counter to murdering. Except for more murdering.
Unknown2012-01-12 21:08:01
The thing with Night abilities is that they're double-edged. Brumetower, bonds, choke - they affect everyone or caster-target. The only real advantage that a Night user has is that he can choose when to activate them, and that Drink is active in a shadowed room.
Unknown2012-01-12 21:18:55
RAAHHHH NIGHT IS THE WORST OP SKILL EVER WORSE THAN AFFINITY WEATHER AND HAIGLOH COMBINED (and drunkbards).
I agree with Rika's sentiments.

Heyo, overreacting, I enjoy trolling sometimes.

AFFINITY
Bye bye thread.

I'm just saying that it's pretty amazing that Malarious' request for chaos event clarification somehow turned into a discussion about brumetower within 3 posts.
Revan2012-01-12 21:52:56
Who was around when glamours Maze was whored non-stop to get Soll the first ascension? THAT was baww-worthy
Unknown2012-01-12 22:11:24
I think that was Visaeris.
Many buttery tears were shed that day too! Good times.
