Hi! This thread is aimed mostly at the gods, as I'd like definitive answers on what is and what isn't allowed during the scuffle on Astral this Saturday.
My specific questions:
My specific questions:
- Are guild champions allowed to rescue Sealbearers who are holding the sceptre?
- What makes people drop the sceptre (other than being dead) - i.e. is it forced movement/elevation - and are we allowed to utilise all guild/common/artifact skills to achieve this? If not, what is prohibited?
- Are shrines going to be in play? Certain spheres have more rooms than others and are able to host more shrine powers, leaving others at a disadvantage.
I'm sure there will be more questions, but these are the ones that come to mind just now.
Thanks! ^_^

1. Pretty sure that counts as forced movement, or at least magical movement that causes staff to drop.
2. Any forced movement; I don't know of any restrictions on force move skills.
3. Presumably. I don't know of any shrine restriction.

Thanks, but I'm looking for definitive answers, really. This year a few changes have been made to how things played out in the Ascension trials of years past, so I'd like to have the answers come from those who have the final say.
For example, last year the shrines were active at the start, but then they were killed. And I'm not actually certain what drops the staff - is it forced movement only? Is it even forced movement room to room or elevation change only? If elevation change, is it just land->sky or land->trees as well?

I, too, would not mind clarification considering the things that have been treated markedly different from previous years already.

There will be no shrine powers.
You must stay on astral and on ground elevation to hold the scepter. You also must be alive, conscious, not be under grace, and remain in phase (not out of phase or ghosted, etc.). Also, if you are not at an astral node, you will eventually lose the scepter. There's no restrictions on forced movement or skills.

Conscious? Haha, does going to sleep drop the scepter? That sounds like a majorly bad idea. Like, brokenly bad.

What about darkchant Truth - Magnagora's construct power which halves astral insanity? This has been a sore spot every year. Will it still be in play?
Estarra2012-02-16 20:34:12
Consciousness has been a prerequisite for all Ascensions! Insanity cannot be avoided by circlet or construct, etc. and I should note that maze is disabled.
Enyalida2012-02-16 20:42:16
Right right, but for some abilities being asleep is considered being 'unconscious', is that the case for the staff? Dreamweaving seems like a hilarious way to ruin someone's parade with sleep attrition.

Thanks Estarra! :)

In this instance, unconscious refers to the affliction and does not include being asleep.
Enyalida2012-02-16 21:06:30
Okay! That's a lot better!

Basically you don't want to stand in a room with a Minstrel for more than 20 seconds, according to this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15173666/warfight3.html

Or fight a ninja!

That's some crazy fast drunkenness, and I'm one to talk.

That was a bug and was fixed when I saw the log.

Reality ought to be disabled as well
Unknown2012-02-16 22:08:45
Rofflecopter.
Like I said before, as soon as you disable hamsters, land, convergence, and all other similar skills, let's do it!
In fact, if we remove all forced movement abilities, even better!

Will Reality cause staff-dropping? It doesn't seem like it would...
Unknown2012-02-16 22:14:47
Nope, it just shoves you around the area, it doesn't put you out of phase, make it you unconscious, or change your elevations.
Which is why the suggestion is even funnier!
