Aetherspace idea:

Ok, we already have the organizations of the Gnafia and The Facility.

Each organization can be allied to through the ships and commune / city. Allying would give a different set of bonuses, depending on the city / commune government structure, as well as how many ships are under the fleet. Every year, there should be a quota only special mobs or such, in order to get the minimum requirement to continue the allying. This continual participation is not without the benefits though. Unique title, a special mob that participates in aetherflare battles, a power tribute to the city or commune, maybe as well commodities that are given every now or then from the loot.

In general there would be levels for participation, or how closely your organization is tied to the aetherspace organization. That said, there would be levels of participation for ship members that ally their ships to an organization as well. For example, there would be two different sets:
Cities/Communes:Level 1: A small power titheLevel 2: A small amount of commodities per Lusternian month (rp reason: organization looted an enemy ship, and is splitting the wealth)Level 3: Increased bonuses while in aetherspace (experience, damage with ships, ship regeneration)Level 4: A larger power titheLevel 5: Ship salvaging crew (chance that if you die within your organization's close area, you and your ship will be rezzed by the organization's handymen) Level 6: A larger commodity titheLevel 7: A special mob will be present during flares Ships:Level 1: Unique title level 1Level 2: Ship moves a little bit faster in aetherspaceLevel 3: Better ship regenerationLevel 4: Unique title level 2Level 5: Ship salvaging crew (same as above)Level 6: Unique flashpoint to the organization's headquarters (independent from other flashpoints)Level 7: Unique title level 3 A small description of the titles, and why there are three different ones. The titles benefit the ship members because they would be able to purchase items from their organization at a discount. Level 1 would allow them to access the items, level 2 is a small discount, and level 3 is a larger discount.

The items that could be found would be unique dishes made from aethercreatures, notes, items leading to a larger quest that can be done by a ship (an epic quest of sorts). Now for the requirements of the organizations, in a bit more detail. The levels of participation increase by staying with the organization for a year per level. To take this a bit further, you will need to do tasks as kill certain smobs, turn in a power requirement from hunting (very important to keep the motherships of the headquarters floating), destroy enemy ships, or weaken the enemy's mobs through influencing. Another task would be an epic quest of sorts, which when completed would "destroy" the enemy organization, or rather they are weakened and are forced to go into hiding.

So the tasks you can be assigned:

  • Destroy enemy ships
  • Kill certain aetherspace smobs
  • Aetherhunting
  • Weakening / kill enemy mobs

By doing these special tasks, you are given rewards ranging from gold, to a couple bound credits or dingbats. The other thing about doing these tasks, is that they would inversely affect the other organizations. The special mobs would be the head engineer for the Gnafia for example. If you kill him, then the engineering department would be in disarray and their sphere of control would be shaken up due to their lack to efficiently repair their ships after fights. If you kill a certain Governor, then the sphere of influence would weaken because of a riot.

The epic quest that would be completed by forcing the other organization's sphere of influence to weaken and dismember. Your organization's influence would spread in turn. In doing so, there would be a point where you will be given a chance to attack the enemy headquarters straight on. Within, you will have to pass level by level, until you reach the generator of the ship and then after breaking that, you have to escape. The organization that remains in control would give stronger benefits to their members, until they eventually grow fat and lazy, then lose their sphere of influence till it remains equal.

This is actually a REALLY cool idea! I'm all for it.
