So I've been lurking around a bit on the forums, starting to get that age old itch to play Lusternia again! I never really start these topics but I'm honestly curious, considering all of the crazy, awesome, new content that has been released since I was last active.
My question to you folks is: Which guild is the most fun? I don't care if you're a member or an onlooker from a distance, what do you think and why? My criteria are the following: Interesting PVP (skillsets), Activity, and RP.
I'd love to hear a lot of opinions of why people think their guild or someone else's guild is awesome, why they find their combat to be intriguing and involved etc.
Thanks,
C

Preaching on behalf of the Symphonium:
Reportedly somewhat-lackluster specialization that is sort of without a major focus, though there are numerous reports lined up to address this. But we're bards - unspec'd Music is still boss in its own right. Budding RP that is still in a process of definition, though ties in magnificently with the dogma of Hallifax and our new Patron. By the way, did I mention we have Isune! The activity slowed down a lot after the 'Hey a new thing' wonder wore off, but we've seen a sudden influx over the past week or two that's starting to look promising. We have a fully capable and active set of leaders, who are always looking for new things to keep everyone engaged and optimistic on both a guild and city level.

The Druid guilds just got a new tertiary (Shamanism). There's also been a lot added to the archetype lately (and a special report coming up to change sap!) to buff up the class (read: less of a reliance on perfect timing and sap). For the Blacktalon, at least, they've had a recent influx of a lot of people.

I'm enjoying my Cantors alt, though really I am enjoying Celeste in general. It nice to have a bunch of non-coms around sometimes. They ARE good at setting up events.

I recently went from Celest to Magnagora after having a main in Celest since I began playing back ~2005, and I must say that I am enjoying Magnagora! The underlying themes are delicious.
RP-wise, each organization has something to offer, so it's a matter of what you prefer. Same goes with guilds.
Symphonium and Minstrels are new and look pretty awesome, though. If you're looking at getting back into it and don't mind a little groundwork, I'm sure they'd love to have you show up in their guild. :)

The Hartstone has also had a odd influx of people lately. We had 8 people on yesterday, and don't think even half of them were random guild novices who I'll never see again.

I admit I blinked a few times and then doublechecked if it wasn't someone with a similar name. Gasp, Celestians converting to the Taint, it's delightful! More of this I say!
So yes, come to Mag, we can do with more people. I hear the Nihilists are a pretty awesome guild! Actually, we just got some new things to make progression in the guild a whole lot more awesome, with more in the works which is a sekrit but will be totally awesome if it happens!
Shryke2012-03-14 02:05:16
The nihilists were always pretty cool. It seems like there's a lot of people loving on their guild experience, which is great, I really do hope that everyone enjoys the place they're living.
I want to note that I'm always interested in combat and I'm curious how people feel about their classes, if they're fun to play in that respect as well!

In Mag, Nihilists/Geomancers are pretty great, and make up most of the combat population. Cacophany is fun bard combat, but is somewat weaker in small fights. Dunno much about the other two. Warriors are warriors, and I have never played a monk.

Hallifax has had an increase in activity recently, along with the addition of two shiny divine. I'd say we have some pretty good fighters as well.
I enjoy the institute's science roleplay, and we generally have a healthy number of people around, although I certainly understand that it's not for everyone. Our pvp skills are pretty good from what I know. Mostly I just aeon/balestone who I'm told to in group fights and spend my time doing other stuff.

I think Havens is a pretty cool guild, you know?
And our archetype (Elder God) is pretty pimp. You even get a special class (Creatrix) if you're GM. We're omnitrans as a guild bonus, and we have a special guild-only general skillset that we can trans pretty quickly - and, following that, you get an unblockable instakill that doesn't cost power.
You also get to pick on guild members ranked lower than you with impunity - I still like tot ake Nocht's sucker and dangle it over the sucker, then eventually eat the sucker's sucker. (Sucker.)
That's just me though. :)

@Eventru
I never liked the OP classes, they always seemed bland, you know, no need for creativity. I heard you have some pretty cool members though.

Yeah. We've had a contentious GC election, what with Morgfyre consistently eating the competition, but I think this time around it'll be pretty fair. Zvoltz keeps insisting he stick to an orderly diet, and Mysrai is constantly trying to shove ephemerals in, but you know, sweet, loving, kind, affectionate Terentia is regularly swooping in to save the day.
And don't mind the smell of booze and weed, that's just Kalikai's belch.
Xenthos2012-03-14 03:29:38
I thought Ephemeral applications just ended...

Dude, it costs so much essence though! You're such a crappy envoy. Do your job and buff Zap. It's obviously underpowered. Also why is maggoting cost so high? I mean come on. Let's take a look at balance here.
Also: Hallifax rocks. (get it?)

If you don't want OP classes, come play Shadowdancers! We're losing Night Choke :D

Join the psuedo-NPCs. You get no guild skills, no nexus, no city or commune, and only one tradeskill, but you can omnitrans dramatics and arts more easily!
