Anyone else as psyched for the (finally) impending release of Diablo 3? I pre-ordered my Collector's Edition from Amazon as soon as I saw the announcement, but you can pre-download a digital copy of the game beforehand to quickly get into the game when servers go live on May 15.
In the fashion of LoL and other games-with-graphics posted in this forum, it would be cool to get a Lusternian team going on. I don't remember if D3 is going to have features like clans or affiliations ( might have read it briefly once), but it will be fun to sludge through the demons of hell together.
I am starting out as a witchdoctor :)

Kagato#1992 - Kagato
Fluffy#1714 - Quorre
Placeus#1707 - Placeus

To be honest I never really cared that much about the game itself, but oh boy it is quite exciting to FINALLY seeing it get released. :censor: took forever.
Diamondais2012-03-16 16:48:29
I've never played the series (I know, it's crazy!) but my boyfriend keeps going on about it, so the excitement is there.
Iosai2012-03-16 22:33:42
I'll definitely be getting it. ;)
Kagato2012-03-16 22:48:59
Already 'pre-ordered' since I got the annual pass (which in hindsight was a bit of a waste since I rarely play WoW these days, but I'm just thinking of it as paying off D3 month-by-month at this point)
My main issue is that I will probably need to find an internet cafe to download the game at since I am guessing it will NOT be small by any measure, I only have a 10gb data cap to work with each month ><

If I can bring myself to buy a new computer I will be getting it as well, most likely.
Rakor2012-03-17 05:57:01
^ yeah, same for me. May 15th is payday too, that's convenient.
Ssaliss2012-03-17 06:52:32
I'll probably buy a physical copy in a shop, and then download it from Blizzard anyway. It's what I've done with their other games so far :) Whether or not I'll be able to get my hands on it on the release day remains to be seen, of course...
Rakor2012-03-17 16:06:26
Why
Ssaliss2012-03-17 18:40:01
I prefer having physical copies of games "just in case", and I prefer playing downloaded games since they never require the DVD,
Plus, I'd never be able to download that awesome skull/USB-memory combo.

As much as I'd like to get the collectors edition, it costs a whopping $213 here in New Zealand, I simply can't see myself forking out that much for a single game, that could cover 3, possibly 4 weeks worth of food for me now that my budget is so tight.
Unknown2012-03-18 09:45:39
omg, that is extremely over-priced in New Zealand! It's 'just' £69 here. I don't know why they'd price it so much differently =/
Well I'm glad to see so many D3 fans here. Waiting impatiently for May 15 to arrive... after that the world will never see me again, at least for a few months.

I do that too. I sat down and dug up all my old games and ran the serial numbers through Battle.net, so I can download copies of the games despite my CDs being crappy.
<3 Blizzard.

all "collectors edition" games are gouged to nil and back here. "World of Warcraft" CE's are usually around $160-170ish, Starcraft 2 was around $200 and most PS3 collectors editions are around the $150+ mark. I was EXTREMELY lucky to get my hands on a copy of Disgaea 4 for the PS3 for around $70.
Some examples off the top of my head:
Ninja Gaiden Col. Edition (PS3/XBox360): $168
Darksiders 2: $165
Mass Effect 3: $158
Call of Duty: MW3: $148
Final Fantasy XIII-2: $135-$150 depending on which version you went with.
(Oh, random trivia that goes off on a complete tangent - Out of curiosity I checked out the cost of the steelseries SWToR gear that was released (eventually) in NZ - Have deliberately spoiler-tagged it to avoid accidental heart attacks from seeing the insane costs.

These prices are sourced from http://mightyape.co.nz and http://ebgames.co.nz for those who want to see it with their own eyes
LCD Keyboard (Apparently no longer available in shops in NZ due to the downright ridiculous price): $450 approx
Headphones: $245-$250
Mouse: $245-$250
Mousepad: $80
So for a SWToR themed desktop setup, purchased locally within New Zealand, you're looking at very little change out of close to $1000... I think I'll stick with my logitech setup.

That's pretty overpriced, yeah. Compared to Shou, you're paying +60% for that collector's set, and he's paying +10% over us in the U.S.!
Ssaliss2012-03-19 16:12:34
The collectors edition is roughly $133 over here (or rather, they think it will be; the price isn't fixed yet), and the normal version will probably be $74. I'm still undecided, but I think I'll go for a collector's edition.
Turnus2012-03-20 00:30:01
Well some (like myself) would argue that collectors editions are a rip off as compared to the regular one ;)
Ssaliss2012-03-20 05:15:43
Well, perhaps, but... C'mon, you get a skull with a soul stone USB memory! *nerds out*
Acrune2012-04-03 03:53:01
I finally built a real computer that can actually play games. When I was younger, starcraft and diablo 2 were among my favorites. Pretty sure starcraft was my first ever violent video game :o Will definitely be getting both starcraft 2 and diablo 3, but I'm not sure when- I wanna let my credit card cool off from this computer purchase first :P
Unknown2012-04-03 11:27:26
Acrune!!! I miss you, get D3 and we can ravage the Burning Hells together. My Collector's edition is arriving May 15
