Some of you may remember earlier in the year I attempted to raise funds for a bungee jumping event for Road Safety awareness. Sadly this did not happen due to lack of support.

I try to do a charitable event each year, last year I shaved my head to raise money for the Blood and Leukaemia foundation, since my last idea did not come to pass, I'm trying this doozy of an idea to make up for it.

Basically I am raising funds with the intention of travelling to the USA and making a journey through all 50 states in a 50 week timeframe (so 1 week per state) with the majority of the funds raised to be donated to the Childs Play charity (I will be seeking out corporate sponsorship as well so that travel and accomodation costs cut into funds raised as little as possible)

Assuming that the goal is reached and it goes ahead, I plan to regularly update a blog, twitter feed and a youtube channel (going to do video-logs during the journey) so that those that contribute will be able to keep track of my progress, I have also set additional perks for those that contribute that little bit extra. If I can raise enough funds to make it viable OR I can organise corporate sponsorship, I hope to begin the 'journey' in December, finishing it in December 2013.
