I don't get how it follows that preventing you from browsing the websites you'd like to visit is going to alleviate boredom. Wouldn't that ban result in MORE screwdrivers in the ceiling?

I get IRE blocked at work, too... But I can access the websites by feeding them through Altavista's translate function. I translate them from french to English. Slow, but works alright.

Sadly, they block port 1723 or I'd just play from home via my VPN and remote desktop (which works fine with Zmud, btw). But as is, I can still access the MUDs by tunneling through to my University and then telnetting out from the shell account. It's enough to read messages and the newsboards, at least.

See, that is my problem....they block anonymizers/translators....they block telnet and I can't install programs so I can't use PCAnywhere or anything like that....they have me and I can't get around it.

You said Marine, didn't you? Or am I imagining that. I'm afraid I can no longer hear anyone tell me they are a Marine without imagining I could click on them and set a few waypoints.

I'm not a Marine, I am a Sailor....but we don't trust Marines with sharp instruments so here I am on a Marine base....almost my entire Navy career has been with Marines *mutter*
