As Ethelon I don't see the difference between good and evil. I more take to honor and what trust I can find in people, though if a person is from the city they will have a hard time proving such to me. Even with the attacks from Magnagora I've found that Visaeris and the few others I have spoken to have dealt with me on agreeable terms while those from Celest have been thuggish to me. In my eyes, Celest has done me more wrong more so than Magnagora, but that can always change.

Attacks from Visaeris, not Magnagora*

Magnagora. *shrug*

Obviously Magnagora. Who else can bash Serenwilde citizens and then threaten to do it more if they don't get unenemied? Oh, wait.. Celest could as well.
Don't hurt me.
Don't hurt me.

i believe that Magnagora was the strongest city ever

Leave us alone; we are too busy bitching about the politics within the Commune to worry about Magnagora or Celest
Unknown2004-11-23 02:12:15
Hell, probably even Serenwilde citizens could as well at the moment.
Rhysus2004-11-29 17:22:31
Serenwilde will do fine with itself once it figures out what it actually is. Celest is in the same situation. Magnagora had it pretty easy in this respect - they're the typical "Conquer the World" party. Not the most difficult role to make the most of. Not maligning them for that, it's just the case.
Saran2005-08-18 15:55:52
from the inside serenwilde seems to be a collection of good ideas that are never followed. We are supposed to have a standby resurgem coven at all times, and an active coven whenever necessary. This may be a good idea as the coven leader could be at mother and use an ability to summon the coven for a the dance.
also we sometimes get put in peculiar situations, i.e should we help celest get a village because they don't have any even though they have only one person willing to try (i mean no offense by this, it may just be bad timing) even though acording to the histories we shouldn't really be willing to give them help.
Glomdoring and Magnagora (from what i can see) have the freedom to forge these alliances as they don't share the same past that Celest and Seren do.
Though some inconsistencies occur especially when the Glomdorians allow Magnagorans to rampage through faethorn. I would love something to come up preventing them from having this relationship.
bleh, i'll just sit in the background and bask in the moon

Isn't it? Reading this thread is great fun. It's all 'Serenwilde's a joke, and Celest is going to compete with Magnagora soon.'
Ethelon2005-08-19 19:01:27
Sad thing is, when Glomdoring was first forming, most of us wanted nothing to do with Magnagora, but Serenwilde was slaughtering us at every turn and refused to make a truce. We were practically forced into accepting Magnagora to assist us, errr, save our arses and now it's developed into and alliance where both sides help as best they can.
If Serenwilde had left Glomdoring alone and let us stable ourselves, I believe we would not have this alliance with Magnagora at all, and maybe, because of the taint and the illusion most of us were under, would be against them.

I doubt it.
Glomdoring was to be the main provider of alchemy services to Magnagora. There's no way you would have been against them. Even with their help after all of this time, Glomdoring -still- isn't ready to stand alone.

We are still better off than Celest... and if it wasn't for Faethorn we would be fine. Our biggest disadvantage right now is size...Serenwilde has like atleast four times the members we do. Our main fighters though outclass Serenwilde's a great deal though in my opinion and I believe our commune would be much larger (not more than Seren's. just higher than it is now) if Faethorn and it's conflict didn't weight on us so much.
Malicia2005-08-19 20:58:24
If Celest had a city as strong as Magnagora carrying them, they'd be able to say the same, Eth. It's not a fair assessment. Glomdoring has done nothing on their own.
You say it's about numbers? We've -been- saying that.
Celest doesn't have the numbers either. They don't have a commune/org carrying them through -every- function. The one time Glomdoring tried to take a village on their own was with Rockholm and you see how well that went. Mag was distracted with losing Acknor to Celest.

Honestly. I've never seen a guild in worse shape. Not in Celest. Not anywhere. So how is Glomdoring better off than Celest?

I have to agree with Malicia. Glomdoring is pretty screwed up. Simply said, the place is corrupted. Celest's only problem is that everyone is apathetic.

Not sure, but haven't seen or heard from any of the people I've made bold... doesn't put them in a much better position considering the Talons still have Marsu, Arilyon and about 4 other active Druids willing to fight.

Glomdoring isn't corrupted. That would imply that people are stealing large amounts of gold and favoring their friends.
That said, necroing posts after 9 or 10 months is bad, unless they are as applicable as when they were first posted.

Hey I know this is an oooold poll, but I decided to vote! Go me! Anywho, picked Magnagora. It is my understanding that Celest and Serenwilde tend to team up as if they're best buddies, which I suppose they are! Fighting a common bad makes everything ok, even if they were very much against each other in the past. Some are willing to go as far as they must to get what they want done no matter what the costs, and although that is resourceful, in my view it makes them weaker that they can't accomplish their goal without someone to hold their hands.
