Very nice! I always pictured him with white hair for some reason biggrin.gif

And is that curve I see the hint of a well endowed bosom? ninja.gif

Stop oggling his man-breasts, perv ninja.gif

Edit: I forgot something. No it isn't! laugh.gif

I don't look horrendously androgynous/feminine enough. Not satisfied with this.

I need some pointers on that; well, ones that don't entail drawing him cross dressing.

androgynous/feminine

Those two kind of contradict each other so I can't quite tell what sex you're going for. tongue.gif

If you want masculine, maybe make the torso a bit more muscular or something? The way it seems to taper suggests femininity.

If you want feminine, try upping the cup size a bit? tongue.gif And maybe eyelashes.

You could also adjust the hairstyle so it looks more traditional too.

Just as bad as the Magnagorans treating me like a lady over yells on Celestia.

I love the attention, anyway.

Well. More like a guy suffering from a testosterone deficiency. Making it seem as feminine as possible as to make people believe at first glance that he's a female.

Should fit in well with roleplay, since at least one of the ordained priests of the Celestines mistook me for a girl.

A really tremendous artist - Kerri (Hoothoot-ina-box) -who occasionally delves into character portraits made one for Xinemus. It amazes me, not just how talented this artist is, but how clearly she can "see" the subjects in her mind's eye.

Here is the link to the full-sized portrait on her site: Xinemus

Er... Not sure how to put this to you, but faelings don't naturally have horns. I've seen several faelings put horns in their description (they were all Glom faelings as well blink.gif), but only faelings that have Stagform have horns. Nice how yours are all dark 'n stuff though. The official artwork for faelings is misleading.
Astraea2007-02-03 23:17:00
You could always just attribute it to weird fae genetics or interracial breeding.. I mean, Astraea has canine ears and a canine tail, that could just be attributed to having been born from a dog-like fae, or a loboshigaru.

Xin's horns mock the Stag. They are a deliberate perversion.

Nudged by Feyrll, I'm throwing in my two-cents-worth art as well. A self-portrait which, ironically, turned out not to show at all what her pose was picked for to show - mainly her odd hair and a phoenix tattoo on the back. In fact the hair's laughable and... ah nevermind. It's a last minute work for the artisanal contest deadline. Fear the deadlines ninja.gif

I haven't seen a fae with horns, personally... Is there any IC reason for that or is it just because people take it from the picture on the site? And why is it on the picture if it's not really supposed to be there?!
Astraea2007-02-04 04:48:41
Each racial picture is of a person who is a certain class. So the Elfen Moondancer is on a broom with fae around her. Thus, the faeling Hartstone is in stagform.

Edit: I want a Shadowdancer Shadow Faeling picture huh.gif

The 'Why' was answered. The Faeling on the website is a Hartstone Faeling, who has taken on the Stagform.

Aha. Makes sense, yes. Thanks!

>_< Ah! I really like it, especially the way her dress blends into the background~ It really is a pity you couldn't have drawn the tattoo, that would have made it look perfect. ^^ and now I have color references for my version love.gif

o_o it's Extreme Makeover, Lusternia

Make his eyes bigger, "sparkly" almost, and definite eyelashes. Not so much that he it looks like has mascara on, but where it's like a demure....whispy veil over his eyes, you already have that there, just need to emphasize it. Keep his blush, it's very womanly/girly.

Smooth the edge of his face, but his chin shouldn't be too pointed, unless you're going for the delicate sprite-lady look, otherwise, it should be wider but with a soft curve, like....Drew barrymore. Angelina Joli may be too strong.

His frame shouldn't have that curve, but you were right to make it thin, try and emphasize his delicate limbs, so he will appear fragile, maybe remove his hips a little.

Flowing hair is often considered feminine, so if you soften it and make it curl/flow a bit more than it does already, it should help.

The rest is perfect, the gentle slant of his ears, the soft robes, the wings, ding! ...I really envy how you made those robes, folds and shading have eluded me for years.

Just for clarification, the twisted, dark antlers have been part of Xin's description for a very long time. Someone did point out to me that, technically, they are a mistake, as only Stagform-using faelings have horns. They were right. It was a mistake on my part. I had assumed faelings had little antlers because of the website art.

However, rather than simply delete that phrase from my description (which, in retrospect, may have been easier on everyone's sensibilities), I decided that it might make for an interesting story to actually work it into an artifact from Xin's pre-Portal background, which provides a justification of his rather complex, but overall belligerent, feelings toward Serenwilde.

So, I want to acknowledge that I affirm along with everyone who has corrected me that non-Stagform-using faelings ought not have antlers. However, Xin has them. The ontological contradiction is supposed to bother you. People are supposed to ask him about them, because they're "wrong."

It could be worse. He could also be blind.

And a bard.

...with a sword.
