Titles

I think the way people earn titles should be changed. Not the titles that come before and after names, but the titles such as "He has earned the title ofHero of Finks" or "He has solved the murder mystery at Stewartsville Mansion".

These generic titles are good at first, but after a while, so many people will have them that they will lose all substance. The only people ive seen with unique titles are Kaervas who was the "First Planeswalker" and all the Guild Administrators, Guildmasters and Guild Champions.

I think that every once in a while, a few new quests should come out, and whoever does them gets the title, but it disappears after the person has done it, so for example you rescue a farmers wife, you get whatever title is appropriate, and from then on the farmers wife stays in the farmhouse, you can rescue her again.

This would improve the depth of this game, and make each person more unique, at least in my view

That would be nice to have those special quests that can only be done once or twice. As for quests now I hope Im not the only one seriously annoyed at people who go and do them so much that they have it triggered and aliased to death that nobody else can go do them.

You're not the only one. I've had the Starcrossed Lovers quest solved for a week now, but every time I log in, be it morning, noon or night, somebody has already done it.
Unknown2004-10-28 13:11:25
The quests take 24 hours to reset so just keep that in mind.
Unknown2004-10-28 14:15:14
so with unique quests we wouldnt have to worry about it
Unknown2004-10-28 14:18:53
That's true but then people are going to just find another reason to complain. I think that the way the quests are set up now are fine. They take 24 hours to reset and are different each time.
Unknown2004-10-28 15:45:51
Imagine the work that would put on the people who build the quests. Do you want to spend hours and hours working on a good, high-quality quest that only one or two people are ever going to be able to do? I don't think so.
Unknown2004-10-28 16:18:31
Yeah, im not sayin a 5 new quests every day, just one or two every once in a while, like every one or two weeks

I don't think any divine has several+ hours extra every week to do nothing but design a quest that will only happen once.

People are also going to be sapped of ideas quick if They have to come up with these long and complicated quests every week or every other week. And then, factor in the frustration level if someon holds onto one or two of the pieces....well, then the people doing the quest are just going to get flustered very quickly.

From what I can tell, Delport's quest has been broken since closed beta.. Although I haven't checked recently.. I know as of a week or so ago it was still locked up and broken.

The 24 hours for the quest to restart, does this also apply to the saving the gnomes thing in Lolliprin? I have been in there for 5 months (5 irl days) trying to solve it, and gotten lots of nowhere, *I heard a rumor of a scroll... but I'm not finding one and no one knows of one.. but i'm not giving up!*
And I also do not like how people will run the quest over and over and over just because they dont want to go out and slay for their experience, I mean come on...my Gs is exactly 6 hours left now, all of that but 1 has been spent in Lolliprin. Now that I think about it though, the fact that I have been there so long and NOt solved the quest makes me feel very stupid... hmm oh well, can't be helped.

No wonder I've never been able to figure it out then.

I think the 24 hour reset time only applies to places like Stewartsville and Delport but I could be wrong.
Kaervas2004-10-29 14:33:05
I don't remember the Stewartsville quest ever taking 24 hours to reset, maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.
Unknown2004-10-29 14:35:41
It does, you'll go in there and the Duchess or whatever she is will just be sitting there smiling forever.

The best part about Stewartsville is when newbies get their friends to tell them how to do the quest and then they have a run in with the cloaked man *sagenod*

We'd far rather design repeatable quests than one-off ones, unless it's going to be a big event that everyone gets involved in.

If you notice that quests are broken, can you bug it? I've not seen any about delport yet...
Unknown2004-10-29 14:42:21
I thought that I bugged the Delport quest? Perhaps I am confused...but it hasn't seemed to reset in AAAGES.

I know I bugged Delport like 3x in closed beta, but I haven't checked lately since Celest seems to dislike me for some odd reason :excl: :excl:
Unknown2004-10-29 15:23:31
I am kind of wary from bugging Delport anyway given my experience with it in Closed Beta *sagenod*
