I think Magnagora has plenty of humor-loving citizens, who I have a great time with. We just also have intelligence (for the most part).

Magnagora is cool. Except now that Arilyon won't talk to me any more, because when she told me how a lot of people confused her for a man I told her that she should shave her mustache

No question about it, go mage with illusions. Pick the city you like, I think Magnagora would be more open to a humorous charachter, geomancers allready have a minor reputation of being insane.
Depeneing on how many credits you have, it really won't matter which mage guild you pick so choose one and see if you like the culture.
Another option is Moondancer with the faes and such, but I think illusions is easier and less costly (powerwise)

If you can find where the line between "funny" and "annoying" is drawn, and stay on the right side of it when planning illusions, I agree with those telling you to pick a mage archetype. Whether you'd have more fun messing with the stuffy ol' Supernal-snugglers in New Celest, or the giant case of cranky coffee nerves in a Rammstein shirt that is most of Magnagora's populace, is the next question to ask yourself. Do note that if you misjudge the aforementioned line you can expect lots of verbal abuse, and less scrupulous people might take it upon themselves to kill you many, many times. But that won't happen, right? Right.

I think that I am going to have to run with the crowd on this one and say that the Mages and Geomancers in particular may be the best option for a humorous sort of character. They are insane as has been stated and the illusion skillset when used in the right times *i.e. not putting a Magicmouth at the freaking Megalith* can be interesting and quite humorous.

So nu? what did you pick?
