Requesting some feedback on Glomdoring stuff

Just wondering what people think of my pursuit of a Tainted Glomdoring community(not commune nor a city).

Opinions, suggestions, questions, concerns, etc?

Edit: And just to clear something up, I don't have any Divine backing or even assurance that this objective will be obtained. I'm just going with it in the name of RP smile.gif

Edit2: I'd especially like to see some Divine Input.

Glomdoring has always seemed like a spot for a future 'community', as you put it. Most everyone saw it as a probable addition to Lusternia in the future. I'm at the ravenwood trunk right now, with little doubt in my mind that this spot will become a thriving nexus in years to come. Possibly even RL years to come.

What concerns me for you, Visaeris, is that you are in no way divinely backed, and we aren't even out of beta yet. My guess is that it will be a *long time* before you get to see a real city or guild formed over there.

Best of luck to you. I hope things don't get too boring in the inter-medium.

I actually admire the effort, even if you don't get anything out of it for a long time, you still sacraficed alot to try for it. I wanted to join, but can't as Davrick.

It would be interesting to see a tainted opposition to Serenwilde added. I personaly think it will bring balance, as from what I gather Serenwilde is more friendly towards Celest (Although I could be wrong) whereas Glomdoring would be more friendly towards Magnagora.

Well as Someone had put it, its crazy to even start something without Rowena's permission in Serenwilde, so Visaeris, my advice to you: Is get that permission

Objectively, I think it should be interesting, no matter how things turn out. I foresee you and your followers fighting a war on three fronts. Although none of the factions will ally with each other, clearly none of them will ally with you. My only apprehension that it may take real years to see this go anywhere and that you'll get bored enough in the meantime to start doing something drastic.

And don't forget to show respect towards the Ebonglom Wyrm. He's usually very depressed; finding some way to gain his insights as both a High Druid and Tainted creature would both greatly aid your cause and possibly cheer him up a little. Try to bring him some chokeberries when you visit, too, since they don't upset his tummy as much as his other favorite foods. And try not to mention Ackleberry Forest in his presence. It makes him cry.

Why is everyone looking at me funny?
Auseklis2004-10-31 20:58:38
Well, I think you're mad to require people not to be in a city or commune, as it's likely they'll all give up on the dream before you see anything come to pass if they can't have any guild skills or nexus.

But having said that, good luck to you. I somewhat like insane people.

Why is this so clear? I can certainly see them forming alliances, especially with Magnagora. If 'treaties' aren't their game, I'd at least seem them as friendlies to Magnagora and possibly Serenwilde.

Personally I have always liked the idea of a thriving Glomdoring but it just seems a little odd to me ICly.. -shrug- guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens mm?
Silvanus2004-10-31 21:22:09
I to, have always wanted to be the 'evil' forestal, it seems like a great RP idea to try, but it is way too early for it, and when I had created Silvanus, I didn't even think about the possible commune of Glomdoring smile.gif

A true forestal would be neither good nor evil, but people really suck at doing neutral. In my mind, a Glomdoring commune would emphasize or lean more towards the crueler aspects of nature-survival of the fittest, fighting for dominance, killing those who threaten them, and being very territorial. I'd hate to see it just become a place for assholes who like to kill people at random, then try to say they're RPing evil or darkness.

That said, it would be very interesting to see what would come of that, and how multiple forest communes would interact.

I think it's a good idea. I think it's going to take forever to get it up and running properly and I think it'll probably be a lot of fun (and hard work) doing so. Good luck (meaning that sincerely)!

IC I am ambivalent though I fully expect you and all of your followers to be consumed by the Glom.

OOC I think it was an imaginative and bold stroke. Well done.

On another note I very much dislike the asscoiation of Crow and Taint.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, it's nice to know that our sacrifice hasn't been totally overlooked. Yeah, that's right, sacrifice: I can't use the totems skillset any more! sad.gif

Anway, I think it's great that Visaeris gave up his city and guild to chase after a goal that he might not ever even reach, and i'm proud to be a part of it.

Well, supposebly (hearing this from Mordrin) Visaeris has been wanting to pursue this for awhile, but went off on it way to early, and there were other reasons why he had left.. which I won't name. Nonetheless, it'll be hard for Visaeris.

Not really.

No. It won't be hard on me, nor did I leave too early.

I say good luck. I would probably be more interested in playing a more...severe...forestal, if only for the probable event of some form of leadership and direction.

...not to bag our great Mr Marshall, but the Moondancers are full of opinion so it does take an age for things to happen. Which is no ones fault.
