Not quite related, but...My problem has always been:
A) I love the roleplay/atmosphere/idea of Organization X.
I love the skills/abilities/power granted by Organizaton Y.
C) For whatever reason, I can't merge them without sacrificing aspects of them.
In this case, I somewhat dislike the RP of the Nihilists/Magnagorans, but love most of the Nihilist's skillsets, but I can't leave Magnagora or else lose the Megalith and 66% of my powers. (Tarot uses Any power-type).
What do you all do in this situation?

Definitely choose for RP. Enough said.
Although usually, they both coincide for me.

More and more I'm noticing how little importance your skills are anyways. Just stick with your guild and city, grin and bear it, and learn enough skills to get by bashing. Bash until you can survive a few rounds of combat, and you're set.

I went with RP, as a Nihilist.
If I was going for skills I'd be a Moondancer.

Pft.. Not 66%.. More like 40%. There's a good bit of Necro and some Nihilism(mostly defs) that you can use without Megalith power.

I guess i'd pick RP over skills; that could be assumed of any Disciple of Crow, what with the entrance requirements being what they are

Protip: Screw RP, play a Moondancer for the win
Kyros2004-11-07 04:38:02
Well, I got lucky in that the race I wanted to play RP-wise (Taedae) just happened to be great for my guild. (Serenguard.) K'ros Crush!

I guess I was lucky... I chose Moondancers for RP, and since everyone seems to complain all the time, looks like our skills aren't too shabby either. Nice to see its not just the evil guys who have all the great fighting abilities this time round.
Definately go with RP in general though - its an RP-based game!

My suggestion... Make an Alt, see which you can live with better.

If you go for skills, you'll have to change every time a better skill comes out. RP all the way
Hiriako2004-11-08 17:38:20
Woot for RP! Just so happened that my RP choice took me into the Moondancers guild as well. *grin*
Typhus2004-11-09 17:05:47
As my Rp choice brought me to the Geomancers. Great for me?

I went with RP for Guild and Race. I'm extremely happy with my character, my Guild, my Race, and yes, even my City. The bugs are getting worked out.

Rp. Skills can and will change - you dont know what your getting. With RP, you know it will be good.
