Well...I know, traditionally, that the air and skies have been much more important for combat and suchlike than buried beneath the earth. But I think it would add a new layer of depth (pun not EXACTLY intended) if not necessarily fighting, but transport in general, was a lot more easily achievable with burrowing and the like. I imagine it'd require a lot of coding, but it would be really neat if things could go on underground - perhaps there would be small air pockets you could use as rooms, build tunnels between them, collapse said tunnels on intruders, have geomancy actually DO something...that sort of thing.

That'd be cool. Underground tunnels, perhaps as a way to speed travel between certain points. Aquamancers could make use of water currents, i'm sure Aeromancers would be skilled at using air currents or thermals, and Pyromancers.... uh... could... breathe fire?



There needs to be a fire-breathing smiley... anyway, it'd be a fun alternative to 90% of Aquamancy/Geomancy abilities being demesne-only, and even then they're mostly useless, as are most of the other 10%.

They could use, like, lava jets, and cover themselves with a protective heat shield so it wouldn't hurt them as it propelled them down the tunnels. Also, there could be a subterranean village only accessible by burying. There'd have to be some sort of groundwalk spell though, it'd be a bit pointless if only them Seren could get there.

Convection currents? The currents in magma, I think. That'd be fun. With a few volcanos spotted around the Basin to shoot them back out? Has anyone else read Artemis Fowl? All those underground tunnel networks the fairies to get to the surface, using the vents...

Maybe, if they went quite far down, Geomancers would be able to zip across the continent on rivers of underground magma?

Ah, I'm thinking they could be like...a fae that extends plant growth in all the rooms it walks into, in a brief time, like the maiden has a brief time. Being a leaf spirit and all. Or something like that!

Naw, they're little tree spirits. I like to think of them as leaf spirits. Hence the plant-regrowing thingy. I'm sure there's better ideas though.

And on the less-important note of actual viable ideas, how about extending the water and earth planes - the water should have a glacial region, just because it needs extending if the earth is, and the earth should have a proper underground cavern network. Not like the catacombs. We all know they don't count. *peer burrowing*
