Warrior accuracy while bashing

Personally, I don't see why the warrior archetype should have such poor accuracy while bashing. None of the other archetypes miss as far as I'm aware. Even the denizens don't miss. And it's not like it's balancing out our damage, because frankly that sucks versus denizens too. We need two successful attacks to equal the damage of a single attack from most other archetypes, so if one (or more!!) of those misses it takes even longer to kill something.

I could live with missed hits when each one did more damage. But right now it's just feels...futile.

And since I'm sure someone will ask, I'm Transcendant Blademaster, Capable in Combat, and wielding two 180ish to-hit scimitars.

Edit: I just wanted to add, I do appreciate the work being done on Knighthood and Forging(Thanks Roark!!). I just think it has a ways to go yet before it's actually balanced.

Heh, I have Expert Combat, Trans Bonecrusher, and 190 to hit morningstar, and it misses just as much as it hits...

Damage and accuracy need to be uped just to compare to the other archtypes, and I would love if we were able to use a shield without cutting our abilities completely in half. It should be a trade off, like the shield is able to block a certain percentage of hits while fighting, to at least make it so you take less damage over a longer fight...

I honestly think you should be able to use shields as weapons. like ram your opponent from another room, use the edge of the shield to slash open wounds, caus concussions. Shields are good weapons, not jsut damage absorbers.

Heh.. A Body Check skill with a shield would be nasty.. Make it hit often so novice warriors could use it and have it do minimal damage without shield + the size of the attacker.

that's a good idea.

Shield/sword-blunt should not be more effective damage wise then dual wielding, but it should be comparble. IE damage resistance, maybe basic attacks. Make it useful to have a shield...

An NPCs ability to dodge increases as his level increases. That may be the source of the problem. But for damage, you indeed do more than the other guilds (correlating two warrior hits to one other-guild hit). That does not need to be upgraded. Regarding NPC level, anyone have info on which NPCs are problematic for missing? Are you actually missing or is the NPC dodging?

I miss weevils about one third of the time, with Master Knighthood. They very rarely dodge the hit, so mostly it's just me missing. I'm level 35, and I would hope that a weevil isn't much more than level 1 or 2! Even non-sentient things, like cows and sheep, are a little more difficult to hit than I'd expect.

I had serious trouble with accuracy using a broadsword at master Knighthood but once I got to select Blademaster, I hit probably 70-80% of the time now so it isn't that big of a problem anymore.

Its interesting to me that warrior types get so much devoted to them in terms of hitting and missing and all that fun stuff, but theres no equivilant for magic, except one skillset. I know thats normally true, but its also normally true that the magic people are not 2/3rds of the game.

Do NPCs have greater resistance to magic the higher level they are?

Oh and Roark, I loved the post about Greed. not part of this thread, but *drool* I've been trying to implement that into a mud for the longest time with only semi affect.

Well some people thought I meant irrational greed. So it was fun to see the reaction and how people got it or didn't get it.

Back to topic... Note that choosing a specialization will improve your ability with that class of weapons. If you are master level but with no specialization then things may be quite off for you.
