I almost forgot a couple of other vintage movies. The Beastmaster (Only the first one), Ladyhawke, Krull and most of those 80's swords and sorcery movies. Dodgey? Yes. Cheesey? Absolutely. Spiffy? Of course.
*sniffle* I miss the old days in the 80's with sword and sorcery flicks. Maybe some people in hollywood will get the idea after the success of LOTR. By the way, the "panther" in Beastmaster was actually a tiger spray-painted black.. How do I know this? I met John Amos and he told me so.
Annelia2004-11-17 13:34:04
I cannot believe you guys forgot Tron and The Last Starfighter for cheesy movies that were great, everyone wants to be in a game.
I'm a fan of anime, Ninja Scroll and Blood are my favourites.
I have seen too many movies that i have enjoyed to name.
But my latest ones i enjoyed the most would be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sharks Tale and Without a Paddle

The best movies are those that don't have a corny ending. and Gods and Generals is my favorite all time.
Unknown2004-11-17 15:38:42
Two of my favorite but hopelessly cheesy movies were Spaceballs and The Princess Bride.
Niara2004-11-18 14:28:03
Noone mentioned Ranma 1/2 yet or Tokyo Babylon 1 and 2...or Spirited Away...I really love anime.
Unknown2004-11-20 14:02:37
I like Spirited Away, haven't seen the others. Saraxus watches a ton of it, drives me bonkers.
Though, of course we all know Ghostbusters is the best movie of all-time.

Office Space (A must-see for anyone who works in an office environment.)
Spaceballs
Titanic
28 Days Later
Dawn of the Dead (the remake, not the original)
Labrynth
Legend
The Goonies
Beaches
Steel Magnolias
Troy
Shrek, Shrek 2
Lion King
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Old Yeller (though the book was better)
Seabisquit (though I think I misspelled it)
All 3 Lord of the Rings movies
and there's many more, but my list is getting too long.

Ooh Run Lola Run is like the best, go red head chick run as fast as you can. Fight Club easily the greatest, and Dawn of the Dead u feel that its gna be bad but then its not its like the best absalotly crazy!
Unknown2004-11-21 03:58:22
Napoleon Dynamite, because it's just plain funny, Dawn of the Dead, because it has zombies, and Big Fish, because I just loved it.
Olan2004-11-21 10:38:07
I have to say, I also liked Big Fish.
I just got back from seeing I <3 Huckabees...its a strange, mixed up, weird movie...but its the sort of crazy existential trip I love to see in movies, not quite as weird as Being John Malkovitch, but definitely strange enough that you can't take it too seriously and still 'get it.' Hilarious and philosophical at the same time, and some good acting performances. Although, I couldn't help comparing Jason Schwartzman with Luke Wilson, and wondering if I would have liked Luke better in the part. But, Luke is too old, and Jason does the swearing bits perfectly, so I'm good with it. Anyway, this is one of those 'don't listen to Roger Ebert' movies, go and see it!

Of the latest movies, The butterfly effect and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind are the best I've seen in a while.

Ghost in the Shell, both 1 & 2

Favourite Movies:
Braveheart - Just because it takes the rip roaring piss out of the English and makes us look like bastards, gives me a reason to lay into those damned scots (I live with a Scot, like em really)
Pulp Fiction - Superb, no more needs saying, other Tarantinos close behind.
Clockwork Orange - Love this movie
Trainspotting - Anyone who doesn't know and love Irvine Welsh, needs taking to Edinburgh on the piss
American History X - I love this movie
Rounders - I play a lot of poker in the UK, many a good night spent playing cards, good take on gambling addicts, like moi
Euro Trip - For the pure fact that I'm in China, it's one of the worst movies ever made and it made me laugh for two hours straight, something which is needed by an expat in China occasionally

Heh I read trainspotting then saw the movie and was stunned and slightly dissapointed, I have to read porno I hear that it is pretty good. I love the makeup in clockwork orange, just the movie itself isn't my favourite I mean the ending is just bla.. and American History X is the saddest it was really horrible that it was a true story as well it made me so incredibly sad.
