Laysus - I used to listen to the mad capsule markets religiously. And the district sleeps alone tonight is one of the two postal service songs I know. Neato.

I just have to say that Blindspott rocks. If any of you get the chance to listen to one of their songs, take it.

Who would've thought Silvanus and I listen to the exact same music. That list comprehensively lists my primary playlist, take away 3 doors down.
When I've been jamming with my band (I'm a bassist) I usually get into Joy Division / New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees and other such classic Goth bands. Also Rammstein or KMFDM if I'm in need of something sinister and german.

NZ Music - Blindspott are good live, but I'm more into Che Fu, Rhombus, Shapeshifter etc.
Saw Rhombus live somewhere, quite decent - think it was at Rakinos.
Oh.
Timmy Schumaker/Baitercell/Minuit = GODS. Saw some of them at Summadayze here earlier this year, and was very impressed, the rest I've been to at dirty ol' Fu.
But *above* all, the man who *is* god - High Contrast.
For proof - three words. Twilight's Last Gleaming.
I love it. And he went *off* live.

This is what I listen to when playing or just bumming around:
Rush Best ever
Pink FLoyd yes even with Sid Barrett
Rolling Stones excellent party music from the 70's, the stuff from the 80's should be taken to a field and shot
Ted Nugent strangle hold is just the best for any kind of fighting
Beatles gotta love the White album and Sgt Peppers
ZZ Top Homies from the Lone Star, gotta have it
Alice Cooper Creepy, campy 70's shock rock
Crosby, Stills and Nash (and Young) heh drug addled....
Eagles Even thier country phase was good
Jimi Hendrix
Led Zepplin cannot forget the folks who gave us In Through the Out Door
Stevie Ray Vaughn one of the sweetest guitarists ever
Joe Satriani Blistering thoughtful guitar craftwork
Steve Vai Joe's protege need I say more?
Traffic More excellent tunes from the 70's
Greatful Dead Beautiful music for beautiful people
Iron Maiden love the first two albums, yes albums not cd's dammit
The Who The windmill and destroying the set, I was at thier last concert and actually lost partial hearing in one ear
Skinny Puppy Call me strange but I consider them to be the Industrial Pink Floyd
Eric Clapton Bow down heathens
Kraftwerk German electronic band, if you see 'em thank 'em for all the groovy rap and techno music we have today
The Doobie Brothers Mindless background noise for me
Front 242 Another Industrial forerunner
Consolidated A very politically aimed band, they have political debates at times in the middle of sets, odd
Frank Zappa Hehe Pappa Zappa, the freak don't eat the yellow snow
Genesis before Peter Gabriel left
Frontline Assembly Industrial CLones
The Orb Very heady trans
KMFDM fun to listen to, will say almost anything in a song
War We all know the lowrider
Santana Can make a guitar weep man
Talking Heads off beat heady and quite good really
Tool Maynard needs to get out of my head
Perfect Circle multiple personalities
Metallica (Nothing past Ride the Lightning) Yeah yeah
Black Sabbath Sweetleaf I love you! Tommy Iommi plays with partial fingers
Triumph Canadian rockers, one of the few worth listening to
April Wine Another of the few
Yes Acquired taste, like a fine wine
many others I fail to recall at the moment
So umm yeah....
