Starsuckers, at least.

Oozes don't actually team, I tested that, and I think this applies to bats too -what DOES happen is that one of them runs out and then runs in again for no reason, and you start targetting that, and you hit it, and then both of them get annoyed and hit you...gah.

Shiri is correct on this one. I've mentioned this issue in another thread, a problem that I've at least never noticed in 80-some levels of hunting in Achaea. They move, even mid fighting, they refill health with their most painful attack, and when more come into the room, you target the newest instead of the oldest.

This is especially crummy for warriors...takes me (something like) 8 swings (6 hits) with level 3 slow balance and 20ish strength to do what it can heal in one quick and painful attack. Lets not even talk about the fact that when there are more then one sucking your blood and healing whatever damage you can do, as well as flitting in and out of the room at will...

Astral is preferable to this, even after recent defense downgrades. Bats are a pain in the arse for warriors.

Dream leeches do the same thing. Just disappear at random.
Kharvik2004-11-10 21:51:34
That's why when you bash things like bats or oozes you should target their NUMBER and not their NAME... less you'll inevitably hit another one and piss them off.

Learned that lesson fighting grubs...one is easy...two with one webbing you or whatever while the other pummels you..ouch
Typhus2004-11-18 19:01:14
Heh.. Did that with grubs and the beasts. You can shield from them though you know?

Yeah, not when you're webbed though. tongue.gif Update: Stoneghasts added to the thingy. Still looking for anyone who knows about the Cosmic and Astral. Big people like Silvanus that bash Celestia would be helpful *inno*
Typhus2004-11-18 19:15:45
Sorry about the double post. Note to self, don't double click that button on a slow processor.

Just thought I'd point out, if you have the problem of attacking something when it comes back into the room and having two going at you at once, use an alias.

I do INFO HERE, and then SETALIAS STAR POINT CUDGEL <>, then I don't have to fiddle around with numbers when I want to get a quick attack in.

It's very handy. Now I don't accidentally have two starsuckers hitting me at once.
Shiri2004-12-13 21:45:12
Eh, I just do
SETALIAS C CAST BLAST &T
IH
ST T THING
*kill*
ST T OTHERTHING
*kill*.

Much quicker if you use the targetting system. And that's in game, let alone decent ZMUD things wink.gif

Shaddap.
Unknown2004-12-27 05:01:24
How many have you gotten at once? I've had at least four or five bats hitting me once...
Unknown2004-12-31 13:34:11
I don't even do typing much anymore, I like my macros for basic common things like Cosmicfire and Pentagram.

I think I comfortably had 4 or 5 oozes before, just having fun with them because there was little chance of dieing. Brona jumping me kinda swung the balance though =D (There is a reason why we love Vitae...)

But yea... Bats get REALLY nasty when they start teaming, plus them regenning their health lots doesn't help either. Having a trigger to grab a new monster number from an IH (possibly gagged too) whenever you enter the room or when a monster dies to allow for more efficient switching.

Scripting is fun <3
Shiri2004-12-31 13:37:27
Yeah, I prefer to have things lettercoded for basics like cursing, circle (which I still put as "pe" for "pentagram", 'cause I'm like that) and so forth. That way if you press the wrong button by accident it's harder to screw up. biggrin.gif 4 or 5 oozes are harder for really weak people who are likely to be fighting them in the first place, though.
Unknown2004-12-31 13:41:41
Well Elaria's a Faeling so she doesnt have the world's greatest supply of health. Just good control. I was bored at the time anyway, so though I'd mess around there. Killing every ooze in the swamp gets me somewhere between one and two percent anyway... Probably not that worth it.
Shiri2004-12-31 13:44:35
Elaria is also 47th ranked, and has been fairly highranking for quite a while. Compared to the odd level 20 you generally find bashing around Glomdoring...tongue.gif
Maedhros2005-01-01 20:21:47
I'm level 57 and I still mope around Glomdoring. More to piss off Serenwilders than anything else, but whatever biggrin.gif. I've already been killed once for it.
Yukari2005-01-01 23:35:44
I've never had an ooze leave the room. I've had them come in and target the new one and die to it. Did that once on spectre isle a looooooooong time ago when I started bashing it. happy.gif
