I like to listen to jazz when I fight, in Aetolia the best FFA I ever fought was when I put on Kenny G. I dunno, it helps me concentrate.
The rest of the time, it could be anything from Tim McGraw to Pink Floyd to Tchaikovsky (Marche Slav!!)

Well! I am quite shocked, myself, about the unbridled ignorance that even this board has towards P.D.Q. Bach. I really thought we were a cut above here, but I see that I was wrong. The things the man pioneered paved the way for modern music; much of what we have today would not be possible without his influence.

I am truly disappointed.

Apart from the part about the Sacrifice of Christ, I think Ravage Ritual by Zao is almost fitting for some parts of the world:

6. Ravage Ritual

I remember the first war, the way the sky burned
The faces of angels destroyed
I saw a third of Heaven's legion banished
And the creation of hell
I stood with my brothers and watched lucifer fall
But now, my brothers aren't my brothers

Turned away by a misrepresentation
Stained glass and white washed tombs
The hearts of those who spoke to you
Were never homes the God they tried to show you
They spoke out of prejudice and ritualism
They themselves were lost angels fold their wings
And they fold their wings
And weep along with us watching you shun Christ's sacrifice
Shunning sacrifice
And they fold their wings
And weep along with us watching you shun

Shun

Then again, Latter Rain by Zao could be inspirational to Celest Citizens

A ring of haze encircles the unshrouded truth within
Another seal is broken as the heavens prepare
To break forth in fulfillment

A blanket of deception is layered on sacred writings
Which contain the thoughts of the One who is Almighty God

A sword unsheathed is drawn bringing legions of demons to their knees
By the covenant prepared before the earth itself still
So many choose to warm themselves beneath deception

A ring of haze encircles the unshrouded truth within
Another seal is broken as the heavens prepare
To break forth in fulfillment
A blanket of deception is layered on sacred writings
Which contain the thoughts of the One who is Almighty God
A sword is drawn, unsheathed bringing legions of demons to their knees
By the knowledge of a covenant prepared before the earth itself
Still so many choose to warm themselves beneath deception

As the end draws near and history closes
I pray that the winds and the rain of that which is latter
Will bring clarity and understanding to Your infallible Word
Let the lack of knowledge that destroys us be lifted in Your name
Off

Yes, 1812 was by Tchaikovsky. He plagerized the 1712 overture by the superior composer PDQ Bach, which was also adapted (and IMO butchered) by later artists into the children's song "Pop Goes the Weasel". I believe some orchestra still has a performance of the 1712 in print on CD. Here is a link to an audio sample. Unfortunately, the work was lost and only rediscovered recently, many decades after Tchaikovsky got away with his plagerism. Thus even to this day Tchaikovsky still gets credit in most musical circles as being the original composer.

Oh man, I played this one MUD, where the creator had compiled about every piece of music from a Final Fantasy game. He put 'em in the game's client. www.dragonsera.com ...if it's even still around. Perhaps someone more industrious than I could scavenge them from the client somehow.

Tori Amos.

That will be all.

I'd say it depends entirely on my mood. It goes by my music choices, not by the game. Mostly hard rock/heavy metal though. Or the phones ringing and people talking to me at work. Yeah, that too.

And Bach is a great composer, though I admit I prefer the versions of his work done by the Modern Jazz Quartet.
