That's what I hate. People who stay one race JUST for its stats so they can bash easier, then when they get to a certain level they just swap. Reincarnation should be just for newbies who think they made a mistake in the heat of the moment.

I think humans being all 12 stats is really only a problem because you have dracarni which are like all 14 stats.
Its also a good idea to only allow a reincarnation before level 50. Or to be allowed one reincarnation that you can buy with gold. Or if you reincarnate after level 50, you lose a bunch of levels.

Hmmmm. Maybe Humans should be the only ones with a free reincarnation? That way if newbies aren't sure what they want to be, they can pick the default (human) and choose later.

What about all the non-newbies who choose Human up 'till level 70 or so and then switch to another race for power-gaming reasons?

A possible problem, but I believe that humans are a poor choice for power-levelling, so it's unlikely.

I personally love playing a Human from Delport. I get to be a french chef and have nice experience gain. Besides having a mediocre fighting style I am quite content with my experience gain.
However, I wouldn't mind having 14 charisma either.

I find other races are better than human for power levelling, such as Tae'dae and Aslaran for warriors, just for their benefits. Their benefits (high strength, increased balance recovery) blow away the increased experience gain.
Qaletaqa2004-11-07 23:35:21
Crap I just repeated myself.

I guess the Human experience gain helps them to increase the early levels faster, and if you are someone like me... who levels by killing weevils, the faster level gain would be a boon! I do agree with daganev, there should be a way to spoil those people who only select a race to exploit their benefits only to later on reincarnate into another more powerful race. His idea of being to reincarnate only before reaching level 50 does sound good.

I'm just assuming that you're talking about playing a Warrior-type character... which is the first mistake for power leveling at a low level.
Power Level Guide (never done this but seen way too many people manage):
to level 60 or so:
-human
-magic caster (Moondancer or the like)
-a large investment in mana vials
after level 60, once you start getting regular critical hits:
-any good Warrior-type race
-warrior OR any guild which uses combos, to make your crits add up
-a large investment in health vials and sparkleberry
