Unless their health is at serious threat, they shouldn't get that low - without spells like amissio the ritual, it's not quite as good as wrack and...the Celestine one...whatever it's called.
Absolve, mon ami.

Darn, I thought of that, but then I remembered that was the Achaean priest one, and figured it couldn't be that here too, else the Nihilism one woulda been Catharsis. Remind me not to assume these things.

Pooka is like a soulmaster from Achaea's occys - it makes people do things. Toadcurse, if they're on less than half mana, turns them into a toad which can do literally nothing but move and ribbit. The idea is to use the pooka to make them dive into the floor, so they can't move (standing doesn't count as moving for the purposes of letting frogs do it), then toadcurse them. The problem, as someone said, is getting them to below half mana in the first place. Unless their health is at serious threat, they shouldn't get that low - without spells like amissio the ritual, it's not quite as good as wrack and...the Celestine one...whatever it's called.
Well, unfortunately its kind of easy to abuse pookas on a Necro and force them to Cannibalize, then toadcurse immediately within a second

Aquamancers could definately use an instakill. It would be interesting if Maelstrom could be made into an instakill like Incinerate in other IRE games, where it kills them if they're below 50% health... but I'd prefer something with less consequences (if Maelstrom goes wrong and doesn't kill the opponent, we have no mana, no staff, and no power).

Yeah, I'm told it can work well on knights too, because of transmute. Especially because it doesn't take balance and all. I guess you maybe just gotta kill the pooka? How hard is that? I've never tried. *g*

3 hits, can be summoned back and healed fully up to 2 seconds, for only 1 power. Why base your whole entire fight around killing a pooka?

Maybe enchanters need 'faesigils' to banish fae (read orb sigils from achaea)
