Perhaps a somewhat difficult quest could be created for a new Nightcoven guild that would result in a huge concentration of tainted energies on a gathering of Fae (perhaps assisted by the Demon Lord of Nil?), twisting them into something darker and more suitable for the Nightcoven to use? They'd still do the same things, but they'd look different and the attack message would be different. Like, instead of brownies tickling your sides, they could brush by you, causing an involuntary, but still rather violent shudder, and the pixie could throw some dark energies that induce drowsines...
And of course, a few new Fae would be created for Mother Night, like there were for Mother Moon.

i got a few more things for the aqua mancers and geomancers. Geomancer should eb able to create golems...dunno bout aquamancers yet. here's a few ideas.
name power required
Clay Golem 1
description: a huge, igasho sized being made of clay. sculpted to look like it has bulging muscles. it's body is made from earthen hued clay, it has no face, and is relatively non-descript.
what it does: does a fair amount of physical blunt damage (gives opponents a powerful double axe-handle blow to the head or a strong, punch to the abdomen)
Stone Golem 2
Description: a massive, igasho sized being made completely from stone. It's body is made from hard, grey granite. it's fists are huge rocks instead of hands. I's feet are mere blocks of rock. When it moves, the sound of rock grinding on rock is heard. it has no facial expressions on it's smooth, featureless face.
what it does: a basic upgrade of the clay golem. does the same thing, but more damage, and has higher hp and has a resistance to cutting damage.
Iron Golem 3
description: a huge, armour-like being. it looks to be a living suit of armour, but in all reality, it is a huge chunk of iron sculpted to resemble a suite of wicked platmail. it is a dull silver, with many rust spots on it. Carved from it's solid iron fist is a large broadsword that appears to be semi-sharp, but extremely heavy. In it's other hand is a massive mace that appears to be bonecrushingly powerful.
what it does: It unleashes large amounts of damage with it's weapons. it hits in a randomm locations. it has a chance to inflict physical afflictions ( broken limbs, concussions, etc) it lso has resistance to physical damage similar to a suit of fieldplate. it can also use weaponparry with it's broadsword.
Steel Steel Golem 4
description: A fulyl articulated, living suit of armour. it is black as obsidian, made from blackened steel. it wield a huge kite shield in one hand, and a massive morning star in the other. pinpoints of red light glare from it's horned helmet.
what it does: upgrad eof the iron golem, except this one bashes with it's shield, has stats similar to a set of fullplate armour, and can either behehad of cleave it's enemy in two like the behead and cleave skills in imperian)
A Gemstone Golem 5
a massive being made entirely from precious stones. it's body glows with unearthly light as it's crystaline eyes glare quietly. it has slow movements, and seems extremely powerful. it's body's edges are extremly sharp.
what it does: can inflict large amounts of magick, electric, fire and cold damage from spells.

I want a highwayman/thief/assassin/sneaky class.
Trickery:
Sneaking, hiding, spying, disguises.
Archery:
Similar to Imperian's, I guess.
Can't-think-of-a-name:
Like blademaster, but with a knife and cloak and a bunch of new skills.

I've heard multiple people say this. If you want to join Glomdoring, becuase its awsome (and you know it is awsome ), why not join it now? TO paraphrase one of the divines, I forget which, the more interest shown in glomdoring, the sooner it will come.
Having a lot of members would be one way of showing interest.
Having a lot of members would be one way of showing interest.
I would never join Glomdoring, and no, it is most definitely not awesome. The Glomdoring is most definitely not the Gloriana. On the other hand, the Gloriana was "awesome", and I would love to see it be restored, and would urge people to do as such, And by joining now, you mean the Disciples of Crow, who do not wish to restore Gloriana, they just seek it for their own source of power and gain, leaving it as it is, ugly and disgusting.
Edit: I absolutely never want to see a Glomdoring commune. However, I'd love to see a Gloriana commune.
Elryn2004-11-23 13:12:55
I have to agree here. I think a Glomdoring 'commune' would be an awful outcome, because of a couple of things.
As it is now, the only way a Glomdoring version of the wiccan archetype could work with fae is if they were somehow enslaved against their will. They simply can't be mutated like the other creatures were, the histories say as much. If they are enslaved, imagine the reaction of the other (possibly two) wiccan guilds charged with protecting all fae...
Secondly, a Glomdoring commune would be the total antithesis of Serenwilde, and both sides would have little choice but to work against the other. With equal access to the Ethereal plane, Faethorn would quickly descend into limitless violence as one side attacks the other, and then the reverse, and it would easily spill into the heart of both communes. Even the two cities have quite separate planes to protect.
The only realistic outcome I can foresee is that either the disciples of crow become a new organization that is non-forestal (or perhaps semi-forestal - a warrior, druid/mage and new guardian archetype that is similar to wicca but with creatures other than fae), or the Glomdoring is restored to the Gloriana in some measure, and they stay 'dark' but not undead and corrupted.
I'd prefer a more interesting dynamic to work with than a commune that we can't help but hate. Let's see... a perversion of everything we revere, and an affront to our spirits - well, diplomacy is going to go down well. Conflict is great, but not something as absolute as that.

well, I would love to see a dark nature commune. I, for one, am tired of seeing the happy-go-lucky snuggly nature lovers. nothing agaisnt serenwilde. Nature does have a soft, fuzzy side. but it also has a darker, brutal, bloody side to it to. We have two sides to the urban aspect, why not nature? mag is always in war with celest, and serene seems not to care. what if we had glom, and seren warred with it? and hallifax and gaud warred with each other. then we'd have a great nexus of wars. we have magnagora and celest fighting over tain and non-taint, we could have serenwilde and glom fighting for what nature truely is ( comforting and warm or harsh and brutal) and then, when they come, we have hallifax and gaudich fighting each other over war and peace. gaudich (fron what i understand, i may be mistaken.) is a war-like city. for those of you fortunate (or unfortunate, take it as you will) to see the LOTR series, i perceive magnagora as mordor and gaudich as isenguard. i see guadich as this war-like city, and hallifax as a peaceful and fun loving place. But i would instantly go to glom if it were implemented. I just see it as a feasible place if it is a darker nature commune. Should it be tainted? sure, why not, it offeres the opposite of serenwilde. Should it be evil? No, it shouldnt. It should jus tbe brutal. Would glom automatically be allied to mag? no, the way i see it, glom and seren would be too busy fighting each other than to care about the issues of the civilized urban environment. And uh....i have a question. When will it be up and running (glom), i'd try to run as it's political leader. hehehehe.
Unknown2004-11-23 16:39:50
Gaudiguch and Hallifax are more like Chaos and Order/Logic.
Unknown2004-11-23 17:10:32
that's what i was getting at, but i forgot the words, really. heh.

Actually, I imagine Ackleberry will be the 'happy easy-going' forest commune, when it arrives. (And hopefully it will arrive soon so we can establish the two identities!) To me, Serenwilde is an isolated, spiritual/mystical and deeply haughty commune. It isn't 'snuggly' at all, we were the ones who made a very deliberate decision to let every citizen of Old Celest die in agony rather than lift a finger to save them.
My point was that an undead forest is hardly going to fit a nature theme. Both the Druid and Wiccan archetypes have the skill of Nature, and if you consider the abilities therein, I don't think many will sit well with a tainted organization...
> NATURE GROWTH
You point an obsidian dirk at the native plants, which dance and grow before your very eyes.
Corrupted by your tainted magics, the new growth swiftly becomes fetid and gangrene, finally melting into a revolting emerald sludge.
You have slain oodles of plantlife.

i was refering the players in serenwilde that ive encountered...and the other nature oriented guilds in the other IRE Games. especially thos ein aetolia.....
Unknown2004-11-24 00:48:14
This isn't Aetolia or any other IRE realm. Do not compare the nature guilds from here, to the ones from elsewhere. Also, Donnar, read the histories, it doesn't seem like you have.
Richter2004-11-24 00:53:44
People keep saying what kind of guilds might be in the Glomdoring. But why must we have exact opposites? Dark warrior, druid, wiccan. Blah
The taint changed them. Lets not make them so much the same.
As for some people wondering what was going to happen to Glomdoring (can't remember who it was), I only know my own plans.
Restore the Ravenwood into a living, (yes, I said living) tree. I'm not ALL evil. Just mostly.
Make it a bit more inhabitable.
Put a structure up, besides the tower.
Bring back our fae, and never let him die again.
Etc.
I'd really like to start up the *rubs temples at the though* "dark serenguard."

Sorry, that just seemed like a really IC post you just had. Whats wrong with some diversity? If Gloriana was restored, I would think it would end up like serenwilde.
Furthermore, what makes you say Donnar hasn't read the histories? Beside the fact that Glomdoring would be trying to take over the world.
Donnar, If you want glomdoring, and you want to be a leader, then Join crow.
Or else just quit your guild and be a scholar like me

Gloriana was patroned by Mother Night and Father Raven, two spirits that seem (even untainted) quite sinister and dark. Why would restoration mean the whole forest becomes like Serenwilde?
If Ackleberry takes after Father Sun (as an example), and Gloriana is part-way restored (still obsessed with death and madness, just not physically undead), we would still have three very distinct philosophies.
Serenwilde (Mother Moon): Mystical and secretive, looking down our noses at everyone else, especially cities though probably other communes too. Detest the Taint due to its history.
Gloriana (Mother Night): Cruel, cold, and expansive whatever the cost; uncaring towards anyone who can't survive alone, and with very powerful and aggressive citizens. Twisted to ignore the Taint entirely, could be hostile towards the other communes. (whatever you want, really)
Ackleberry (Father Sun): Brighter and cheerful, very defensive against attack, I imagine. Earthy and solid, much more outgoing and diplomatic. Probably more accepting of the cities too, but going to have -major- issues with Glomdoring/Gloriana. Hehe.
These are just my opinions, but clearly there is a lot of room for diversity without falling back on such an obvious and overdone dichotomy as light vs dark forest.

What seemed so dark about Raven and Night?
I dont get it. Everyone said it was so dark beforehand, but I would think it was just like serenwilde before it was tainted.
The cruelty you associate with Gloriana came during its time as Glomdoring.
Please, they were different very different - gloriana and glomdoring.
I don't see anyone making any effort to cleanse glomdoring at this point either, so dont complain.

You're right in a sense, I don't really know if Raven or Night were necessarily evil before they were tainted. However, from what I've seen the Great Spirits embody forms that speak of their nature. White Stag is proud and noble. Mother Moon is subtle and mysterious. I imagine its hard to describe Mother Night without the term 'dark' - but perhaps Raven I am making too much of an assumption.
Secondly, the philosophy I gave for Gloriana was for a part-way restored forest. I think it would be a bit pointless to restore it to its fully healthy version again (at least I think that way OOCly). I meant that the disciples could still have a death-focused and dark community, but it doesn't have to be completely tainted. I wasn't referring to the Gloriana in its hey day.
And I didn't think I was complaining, I'm offering what I think would be consistent and appropriate for what it appears you are looking for.

either way, i'd join it in a heart beat. and i considered joining crow, but it doesnt do me much good in my exploration period. ( i make alot of alts, and explore different guilds to get a feel of which one is the ebst for me) But i mos tlikely will once i get one character established
