I am quite tempted against my better judgement.

If you mean narrow minded in that, you don't have a background of reading Cassandra Claire's works, or understand the thousands of young fan girls who walked out of LOTR: The Two Towers screaming "Oh my god, Gollum is so cute! I want to have his baby!", or, have never visited Thebanband's site, then... Yes. You'd be narrow minded. But don't worry, it's not in a bad way.

I thought Gollum was cute too... Andy Serkis that is. I watched the special features that showed him in his white pajamas outfit. Yeah, he's a stud.

Yes, I've read these diaries about 15 times and they still never cease to make me laugh.

And I'm sure a bunch of you have heard this at least, but...

I love this song. I just let it play repeatedly

Out of curiousity, if Gollum was female and had a baby, following Lotr mythos, would the said baby be a normal baby, look like Gollum, or look normal but have Gollum's personiality?
Rauros2004-11-18 16:03:44
I suspect if Gollum had offspring, they would be river folk, since Gollum still has basically the same DNA... right? But what do I know about Biology.

How Saruman described orcs intrigues me though...

I think that the actual appearance would be that of a hobbit since Smeagol himself was a hobbit before his initial meeting with the ring. His personality is hard to say really. I know that the ring corrupted him further but if he was willing to choke his friend over the ring, it's hard to determine if he was already corrupt enough to do this or if that was purely the draw of the ring. I am betting on the latter but then again, who knows? wacko.gif

Heh, so true. Like all good movies, there must be the horrible followups.

Coming to theatres soon, the story of Gollum's secret love with a midget urikai, The Seed of Gollum! Using the worst CG known to man, we have created this high budget, low profit film with the express purpose of ruining the magic of the first movie! Come watch, at only $8 a ticket! And bring the kids!

*Lord-of-the-Rings-Fanatic urge to nitpick rising*

What's to nitpick? Smeagol WAS his name and Smeagol WAS a hobbit before he encountered the ring?
Unknown2004-11-18 22:56:28
From Gandalf, "I guess they were of hobbit-kind; akin to the fathers of the fathers of the Stoors", Stoors being one of the three types of Hobbits. The Appendix (Tale of Years) also refers to Smeagol and Deagol as Stoors. So a more accurate (and nit-picky) conclusion was that they were a pre-Hobbit, as such.

Least they weren't running around with large clubs and grunting at rocks.
