Well, it just struck me that I don't know who Glinshari is.. but evidently he's someone to Hartstone, this goes for all the Guilds - save for Celest, I know whom made theirs and can understand why. Have I missed the histories on these somewhere, was he one of the many Vernal Gods who didn't make it? Or, perhaps will this be detailed later?
Unknown2004-11-21 09:51:14
There were lots of names in the Fall of the Celestian Empire, in the Library on the website. Have a look there.
Auseklis2004-11-21 18:59:40
The only current public knowledge of Glinshari is that he was the first Druid (HELP GUILDARTIFACTS). I expect more will be revealed to members of Hartstone at a later date.
Estarra2004-11-21 19:51:34
Glinshari predates the Holy Celestine Empire by quite a bit. He's mentioned in the history section titled Aftermath.
Unknown2004-11-21 20:02:39
Anyone have any information about that Gladhart guy? I'm trying to learn a little about him.
Also, to the Gods, is the reason there's no history yet, because we're not supposed to remember it yet? Is it going to be added as we find stuff out?

Ah, sorry. I didn't know who Glinshari was at all.
There is a history, just not history of the Elder Wars. At the moment, there's Celestian Empire, and Vernal Wars. Although it will take a little bit of explaining how suddenly everyone in game remembers the old myth of the Elder Wars. Maybe there'll be some worldwide epiphany, where every adventurer who had their minds temporarily blanked by the Fates, remembers this one important date in the seas of time

Or maybe you'll all have known it all along, and your brains are just faulty.
I should have remembered that Glinshari was in the aftermath scroll as well. Looks like mine's faulty too.
Unknown2004-11-21 20:42:35
Hm. The Aftermath scroll does actually point out how Serenwilde are the protectors of the forest, rather than just recluses from society who hate the cities.

They didn't become reclusive until after the Taint. Or hate cities for that matter.
Unknown2004-11-21 22:43:28
Ah, point taken. However, wouldn't it mean Serenwilde are -still- protectors of the forests to this day? Or did that go out the window when the Taint infected the world?
I don't see why it would have, since it was originally Serenwilde's ideals to heal the Basin after Kethuru's attack. Logically, when the Taint is unleashed again years later and devastates the Basin once again, it makes sense that they would once again set out to heal the forests.
Just contemplating all this, since everyone seems adamant that Serenwilders no longer are guardians of the forest - that's just druids and sentinels from other MUDs.

You know, it might be possible that:
1) They want us to figure it out for ourselves, using existing clues.
2) They don't have it yet, and are thinking it up.
3) They don't want us to figure out (or at least, not yet.)

I was curious! :excl:

Hey now. Not all of us.

Wasn't St. Tresalyne a girl?
Unknown2004-11-22 15:16:47
Well, -Serenwilde- isn't guardians of the forest. The guilds are all pretty much guardians of different things. Moondancers- Ethereal, spirits. fae. Druids-Physical aspect of the forest and such. Serenguard- the people of the forest.
Yeah, yeah, I know nature doesn't -need- protection. But when you have so many people taking from it, it needs to be tended, and that's what Druids do. Plus learnin- and stuff, not saying that's their only role, it's just their role on the issue of guardians.

I think of it more as mind, body and spirit for the three guilds.
Although clearly we need some work on the mind thing for Hartstone

Sorry, I perhaps phrased my question a little badly. If you read the Aftermath, it tells how the druids were determined to heal the forest after Kethuru's attack, therefore the druids, (Hartstone for Serenwilde), would STILL want to heal the Basin after the taint is unleashed AGAIN, right?
It just seems a little inconsistent. We're told druids are NOT meant to be protectors and nurturers and healers of the forest, and yet the Aftermath chapter clearly points out that was their goal.

Wow...go figure. I actually said this once in a Moondancer discussion.
