Bob

On the Black Market, I recently brought up us getting a store. It was mentioned soon after that we could even compete with Bob. In the Market, we can provide -every- -single- type of item. We thought, since beta was almost over, perhaps we, made of people from every place, could have a neutral store location. It was decided we would either try to buy Bob out, give him a vacation, or simply run him out of his store.

Then... he stopped selling all the items he did.

The first part of this post is a plea to the Divine, to perhaps let the Black Market either asist or takeover Bob. I like the asist idea, because he sells elixers. Essentially, he is Lusternia's Seasone.

Secondly, if this is not at all an option, will there be any stores that are not in a city/commune? You can imagine how hard it would be to have a mixed group of people, and try to have a store in a non-neutral location.

Perhaps one on Avechna's peak? Requring mining, and large amounts of comms for building it? Even *wince* buying a "house" and adding the store function?

I ask this on behalf of 20 or so transed merchants, who would like a common place to sell thier wares.

And heck, if the Divine aren't able or willing to help us out with this, maybe even RP it... throwing money at IRE always works.

...please?

Let's see... one group wants special treatment because... why? They can?

Buy a shop in each of the three cities/communes (after all there's 20+ transed merchants. You should be able to afford it tongue.gif ). No need for neutral shops.

I want special treatment because I'm me. And because I don't want to buy three stores. Just because we're transed doesn't mean we want to maintain three stores.

It'd be a lot easier than convincing Someone that you should run the only shop not in a player-controlled community.

At least I'd assume so.

I don't think they're ever going to do anything to encourage you to be friendly with the enemy.

I think that people should, if they're stinking rich, have a good reason, and Divine approval, be able to open up a shop. The Black Market could set up shop and proceed to undercut everyone else, and I could open up a branch of my soon-to-be-a-chain store along the Highway, and we'd all be happy.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of being able to provide every service to the world, something that even Bob cannot do.

But now that you mention undercutting... I'll have to look into that...

I think bob should have an auction, and anyone who can provide all things bob needs to sell can own it, assuming they pay the highest price.

I think it would interesting to be able to sell things to Bob, and have his stock entirely dependant on what he can get from people. Have him pay more for things he's low on, and less for stuff he has tons of, and his prices be based on how much on average he pays for goods.

Of course, this could turn out to be easily exploitable or it could throw the market completely out of balance. Still an interesting idea, though.
