3) Well if I end up leading(*crosses fingers*), we're not allying with any city..
Why not?
I'm curious about what sort of philosophy the current disciples are looking for, whether they choose taint or dark forestal. Anyone care to elaborate?
As for the 51 who voted yes to both, don't forget you were very clear it wasn't yes to the Disciples, but yes to -something- in Glomdoring eventually.

Unless Serenwilde decides to cycle out it's entire leadership, there won't be much allying going on between us for a good looong time.
Agreed, though a lot of Serens will not want to ally with you or Vis either. Laneth has had contact with neither and is reacting on principal only, so chracters like him would me more amenable to alliances further down the track.
Though, being a Wiccan, Laneth will be quite torn between politics and spiritual correctness .
Anyway...err..yeah who knows what the hell I am crapping on about.

Basically, the way I see it, is we want to cut though all the bull****; all the arguing, bickering, infighting, questioning of self and others, ect. The things that have, in my eyes, weakened Celest and the Serenwilde.
We will have clearly defined goals, and plans to achieve those goals. You'll carry your own weight, do what is expected of you, and be rewarded for it. If you want to slack off, create an unwanted burdon, and argue, you will go nowhere, and perhaps be asked to leave. We won't be a community for politicians and leaders, upstart philosophers and rebellious children. We are for fighters and rulers, scientists and scholars. Our pursuit is that of power and knowledge, not moral fulfilment.
The Taint is simply the best way to acheive the goals we have set; that's all. We're not trying to spread it, bathe in it, and baste our turkeys in it like Magnagora.
Note that all of this is merely how I invision it, not in any way what Visaeris or the Crows in general may be thinking.

I voted IC yes and OOC yes, because simply I'd rather see the Taint prosper. That doesn't mean I'm going to join Glomdoring, because I enjoy the Nihilists.
And does anyone else love the thing and the ones? They are awesome.

Basically we're going for Serenwilde beliefs, only we're going to follow them. No alliances with cities, no trades, no deals. Study the Taint, help it grow stronger, but not necessarily expand the borders. Fiercely anti-city and self-absorbed. When we must deal with cities, the best word is manipulative.. Getting our way no matter what, and making them think it was their position all along.
As for the 51.. I'm aware, but still.. It's an amazing number for how few people show interest in it IC

Hehe, I imagine so does Celest and Serenwilde.

If Hallifax and Gaudigauch have NPC leaders, I hope they have coffers and comm shops stocked. Else, it's possible their populations died?
If they were truly stuck in time, 'paused' (we'll ignore the real world implications of bacteria/viruses), that could allow a new breed of RPers who came from the paused cities.

I'd love to see the first fifty people to step into the city die of some sort of odd Trill feather parasite.

I don't know about everyone else who voted 'yes' IC, but even though that's what my character wants, she isn't ready yet to commit to the Crows, especially if it involves leaving the commune behind (and those silly totem tunings make leaving Serenwilde pretty much a neccessity).
Unknown2004-11-28 14:15:15
Vana, I'm curious, how can you want to join IC, but then stay in Serenwilde? They are, as has been said, enemies - as in White Hart wants Crow dead, and vice versa.
IC, I just dont see how you can be that way. Enlighten me.
And don't take this as a slam, please, cause I'm not mean :thumb: .

As Dyr points out below, I misread/understood the point and my post was actually not worthwhile. Nothing to see here, move along.
Unknown2004-11-28 21:13:08
Olan, I don't think you get my point. Her current organization is an enemy of the crows. How would that justify an IC wish for the crows to gain power?
Hazar2004-11-28 22:58:03
Allow me to attempt to interpret.
She wants to be a Crow, but she doesn't want to leave the commune - her source of power, goods, lessons, and the like - behind, and the anti-Crow totems make it a necessity.
I think that's what she meant.

Rhysus2004-11-29 05:17:56
Right. She's a turncoat but can't handle actually commiting to ideals when that choice hurts her personally. Pretty much the norm.
Sylphas2004-11-29 05:40:22
It'd be nice to quash "forestal" tendencies. Having to harm another forest to make the Serenwilde prosper or just to keep it safe would be a great way to make some people realize that we care for the Serenwilde, not necessarily for nature itself.
Unknown2004-11-29 09:40:09
It's more a case of previous replies blurring the ic/ooc boundary before - I (the player) think a dark/tainted forestal would be interesting to play, and a nice new take on the whole forestal thing. I do plan for my character to make that switch, but the character isn't ready, both in terms of stats (still very low level) and in terms of rp, as I am planning to make the betrayal of Serenwilde make sense, if you would. As joining the Crows would mean leaving the commune (due to the totems) it's something that proibably won't happen for a while now.
EDIT: And whil I, the player, might be planning such a move quite callously, my character has no idea what will happen to her *evilgrin*

As for me, I would love it see a Glomdoring commune. If it upheld the starting principles that I had expect in Serenwilde, I would join it. I am tired of them fighting and bickering all the time over ct. I don’t even read the news anymore. It is just another way for them to condemn each other. I don’t even bother getting involved. Ok, rant over…
Thought about joining the Crows, the would be kinda interesting to say the least, but I akin them to Hartstone. As a Moondancer, I am looking for a spiritual connection, as in Mother Night…

Rhysus2004-11-29 17:46:12
My personal opinion, given both Communes, whichever one could best connect their RP back to the Great Spirits they are associated with and build the community directly out of that relationship will probably find the most success. Serenwilde right now is plagued with politics that really shouldn't even be an issue given how easily they could revert to a Spirit-worshipping society and easily introduce a standard metric for all of their citizens to live by.
Hazar2004-11-29 18:28:17
The Disciples just focus on Crow because he's the one who needs revival.
Caedryn2004-11-30 07:55:31
I think, not to try and rain on anyone's parade, that it may have been pointed out, by Estarra, that the Glomdoring commune won't be coming back for a longish period of time.
I could be wrong, but this alone tells me that Glomdoring may be a while off yet.
