Just a quick question...

Does raising the Combat skillset help with weapon accuracy? In other IRE games, knight classes have to invest in Weaponry and Chivalry, is this true here as well?

We basically divide 'combat' into offense and defense. Combat skill improves both defense and offense, though mostly defense. Knighthood (and its specializations Blademaster and Bonecrusher) also improves offense and defense, but mostly offense. So if you are a knight and want to improve your skill with a weapon, you should probably first concentrate on knighthood and whatever specialization you choose before you concentrate on the general combat skill.

Especially accuracy, the higher your blademaster or bonecrusher skill is, the less you'll miss, but even at trans, you'll still miss with a 190 accuracy weapon on someone with inept combat very regularly, so you have to trans combat as well if you want a decent hitting-rate.

Not True Thorgal, i have like a 160-170 range of to-hit on my Master Rapiers and Master Broadswords with trans blademaster and novice combat but i still have a really decent hitting ratio. I miss like 1/10 on NPCs and i don't think i've ever missed a player hit and i've had a few with all the Raids of been in. If you want high accuracy learn up blademaster then test out your hitting ratios and pick from there wheter or not you actually want to spend the credits in combat before your other guild skills... if you have enough to trans all for more power to you but you may still want to check so as to better use your credits.

Dunno, I got a 40/190/232 rapier and I regularly miss with it, not to mention with my 165 accuracy longsword, which misses too often to be fun.

I've been trying for a while to find out whether or not the Combat skillset effects your Knight damage, accuracy or speed but I can't get a solid answer.

Can any God confirm just how and what the Combat skill effects other than defense against Knights?

Lady Estarra's post previously will explain combat.

I have always used weapons with to-hit lower then 170. (closer to 120 or 150) I don't miss all that much. And my combat untill recently was only up to master.

I know that some players insist combat does nothing, while others insist its a necessaity.
Alger2004-12-09 08:32:38
well its not the only factors noh? i mean to-hit of the weapon and your knowledge in skill... there still a couple more things in the formula i think
Richter2004-12-09 18:01:16
I still miss, with trans everything, and two of Daganev's maces, heh.
Thorgal2004-12-09 18:07:46
My opinion is that our accuracy is still way too low, I just had an aslaran with 220 accuracy rapiers and trans blademaster jab away at me, she constantly missed, over and over, and I'm only master combat.
