I think long skirts would be great specially since I see it as medieval (somebody wearing some kind of top or blouse and a long skirt for day to day work, a dress is something more "noble" like, or for parties or celebrations).
What I don't want to see is : A really sexy fluo orange mini-skirt or something like that.
Just imagine, a warrioress, going to hunt whatever in glomdoring, and only finds flufly dresses in her wardrobe (In europe medieval times women weren't allowed to wear trousers... Something to do with them being indecent and all, churchy thinking). And I think you should be able to wear some kinds of armor (like leather shirts, or mail shirts, underwear the clothes (look at Bilbo and that milthril shirt or whatever he uses). And knights used to wear clothing over their armors (look at any comic), only for showoffing purposes (lots of chain mail, and something that looks like a tunic with no arms with the emblem of their houses).
And sorry, but I do like underwear, provided it's silk or whatever. No nylon or plastic. It helps up finishing the dresssing. Of course, the people who go around wearing only a bra are out of order and should be put in jail for looking ridiculous in public, and the cities and communes should do a bit of work on preventing this kind of things, if only to keep the RP ambient (of course, with all those paintings of astounishing warrioresses posing just before going to kill a dragon wearing something ressembling a leather bikini and heavy make up have created an stereotype already)

I'd rather we could avoid absurdly antichronistic clothing in Lusternia.
That being said, if we are going to have such clothing, mini-skirts better damn well be one of them. I'm otherwise very much pro-miniskirt.

Anachronism are already rampant in Lusternian tailoring, assuming you want to claim it belongs to any era before the industrial revolution. The whole concept of lingerie -- inner wear intended for an audience -- came out of the Victorian period; and that's just the most glaring example.
Honestly, though, why are we picking on clothing? Exactly which part of Lusternia is in any way "period" or "realistic"? The instant, mass communication everywhere? The endless varieties of instant transit? Or maybe it's the near-painless resurrection for the masses!
This isn't "Medieval fantasy", or even "Greco-Roman" fantasy. It's a populist "swords & sorcery" fantasy -- meaning it's about flash, panache, and special effects; not about reason, realism, or historical costuming. Yes, it should have internal logic (No, really. It should. I mean that. You listening, MUD designers everywhere? Let's all say it together: "Internal logic". Good. Now remember that. Pretty please?), but that's just not the same thing at all.
As every wise game designer or fiction writer should have said at one time or another: "You want the realism? You can't handle the realism!"

Its my firm belief that lingerie was invented the same day that someone was asked to do someone else's laundry.
People only think stuff happened from the victorian era because thats when we got pictures and the masses learned about far away lands. *nod me*
