Saturday, my apartment got broken into. My friends and I had gone to a restaurant at around 9:30pm and when we got back at 11:10-ish we discovered a robbery in progress. Yep...the guy was still in my apartment when we arrived. I didn't see him cause he was in my room, but he had to jump off my balcony to get out cause we were blocking the only other exit...i.e. the front door. I saw him running off though.

Stole my brand new digital camera the mouse, keyboard and cpu of my computer and both my Harry Potter DVDs. I guess he had to abandon the monitor when we got home cause it was in the middle of my bedroom floor.

Anyway, cause of all this (which...oooh...if only if ONLY I had a fraction of my character's abilities! Dude would NOT have gotten away. Or if he'd have broken his ankle jumping off my balcony. Yes...then I could beat him over the head with the big ol stick I have by the front door.) I have been having to use only my work computer for internet and that includes playing Lusternia. I know under normal ceircumstances the IT guy here at work would have a fit about me playing, even off-hours like I do, but he knows what happened and I think he feels sorry for me.

Anyway, to make a long story short (too late, I know) because of this weird combination of work and play I had a dream last night that I (not my character, me) was wandering through Serenwilde forest with the centaur colts following me. I had to stop to do something (I honestly can't remember what now) and to keep them occupied while I did it I handed them each a copy of the CP1020(6/95) Causes of Loss - Broad Form (which is an ISO commercial property coverage insurance form) and told them to read it carefully.

It weirded me out a bit when I woke up.

Nah...I never would have caught him. I was still up in my second story apartment. I'd have had to run down stairs and then try to catch up with him. I guess I could have jumped off my balcony too, but honestly, with my luck I'd be the one who broke their ankle.

I'm going to be shopping for a new computer soon, so if anyone knows where I can get a decent one for around $500-600 that'll run my SIMS and Zoo Tycoon games I'd love to hear about it.

I love it! Yeah...I actually did think of about a dozen different abilities I'd have loved to have used on that guy. I swear though...if ONLY he'd broken that ankle when he jumped down....

Sounds like he was missing a few computer bits and had a lot of time on his hands, unless your computer is side off

You could imagine if your room was a demense, someone there, must go, run into bathrooms come out with superlusternia suit, fly home and kick him around, or whatever works best

Well, by cpu, I meant the tower. I'm not really down with the computer lingo...so maybe cpu wasn't the right term to use. Basically he took everything but my monitor.

I have visions of some dude dressed in black, running out the door with your tower in his pocket, pants falling down.

Good god. He leapt from a second story window carrying your computer tower, mouse, keyboard, digital camera and two DVD's?? He probably did hurt himself.

Have you called the police? They could be checking around for a guy with a limp or something.

I can't believe someone took the time to steal a mouse and keyboard, when they're so generic and you can buy them anywhere for about ten bucks each.

That isn't exactly a light load to be carrying if you're trying to evade someone.

You should've chased him, probably could've forced him to at least drop the stuff or something.

I'm not 100%, as I only saw the one guy, but there were two sets of prints under my balcony...so there might have been two guys... I dunno.

Looking back, I do wish I'd tried to chase the guy. He was carrying my computer...I saw that. I might have been able to catch him. Or at least see where he vanished to.

I had four friends with me...surely if we all gave chase, and caught him we coulda kicked his rear easily enough.

And yeah...I called the police. Gave them the serial numbers to everything that was stolen. I'm not very hopeful I'll get any of it back though.

If he jumped off a two story balcony and held onto everything and could still run...maybe it's better you didn't go after him.
