Let's not mention "Mr. K." around me. Hmm?

Personally, I'm quite fond of the Stavenn/Kinsarmar war. Oh, the beautiful deathsights courtesy of Cruel Lament.

Haha, see, knowing who you are now makes things so much easier on me. And hopefully, those of you who know who -I- was in respective games know I'm not an ass all around, Aris is just....like a puppy humping things. He'll grow out of it, or he'll quit when he's done.

Someone just called me the 'eminem of lusternia'.

Your character A doesn't have the knowledge of your character B. What's more, they never will know about each other, unless one of them is a very public figure posting on public boards.
That's what RP is about.
I have an alt in Serenwilde, but the only things Althana knows about Serenwilde she finds out by asking Serenwilders or reading the public news. doing otherwise and even worse, getting a benefit out of it, is against HELP SECONDS and anybody passing publically information from one city to the other should be told to shut off by their own city. If you want to play a spy, go paying a lot of gold to a novice so he tells you whatever interesting happens.

Its still wrong, no matter what sneaky spin you try to put on it.

Of course it's wrong. But it's not strictly against the rules, so it can't really be called cheating. I don't condone it, if that's what you thought I meant.
Richter2004-12-03 17:58:01
Some people are trying to justify it, but I'm talking about blatant ooc seconds abuse.

I don't see how one character knowing another one personally is illegal. In another MUD, I had one character who was the son of the cousin of my other character. Sometimes I actually consider (asking the Divine beforehand), if I would be allowed to get someone in to bloodline as my son, if I wanted to carry on the bloodline without getting another player to be my son.
Gol2004-12-03 20:34:52
I believe in IRE games... thats considered very dubious. Seeing as your main having the bloodline, would benefit the alt.

I'm not really sure...I mean, as long as (save for the one time when bloodlining, in which case you would make sure it would be ok with the Divine beforehand), the two characters were never in the realm at the same time as each other, I don't see what's wrong with it?

Explain again why your character wants someone whom he's never met to be in his bloodline?

Because it's biology? Maybe because he didn't raise this son of his - didn't even know he was born until recently? You don't have to know someone well for them to be your biological son, really.

EDIT: The character in question is Iggy from Aetolia, by the way. Not Cronus.

So your character benefits from your other character because he wouldn't be alive without him?

Seems so.

That's from an IC perspective. One character benefiting another is giving them items, or dropping herbs and letting the other one pick it up, or basically just using information you acquired from one character and using it on another.

There's not really a precedent, and I don't see how it harms anyone. If you spent time thinking up a family history, where's the damage in wanting to roleplay the next generation of that family?

That said, I don't make the rules. Whether or not it's allowed is up to the Divine.

In imperian two of my characters were adopted children of my first character there but they were adopted by my husband so it worked out just fine. Since the mother char was never there it worked out fine from the rp persepective because the children just never saw mom and only saw dad every now and then heh. I didnt bother with bloodlining or anything of an official nature simply cause of a bloodline glitch (not wanting those two chars to be a murne... they have enough) and cause it would just look wierd.

But back to the topic. Its just seriously bad form to have an alt and use the information in an IC fashion. I have an alt and my two characters are on completely different sides of the totem pole. They have completely different attitudes and loyalties and I definately do not use what little information i obtain on my alt to benefit my main. As for the whole dropping herbs and gold and such and then picking up with your other character thats just a rule, whether or not I agree with it. The only time I hate it not being void is when you delete and alt *laugh* then you either take all the junk with you to deletion or donate it to your friends... usually the latter.
