Glomdoring piece done like a month ago

Well not like im submitting that but when the contest came up i was thinking of finishing it... well my girlfriend was actually doing the thinking(shes the better artist too)... but thats still needs like a lot of things... laaaaaazy

no that map is perfectly fine from what Estarra has said so far, as long as the map spots are legible and easy to read. Because that map still cotains specific rooms for people to navigate.

Psst, make the room colours lighter so us blind people can see them. smile.gif

That map is awesome, Alger.
Estarra2004-12-09 17:26:26
I like the map too but it is hard to see the rooms. Though I know it may not be artistically pleasing, maybe having the rooms yellow (at least a complimentary color) would make them pop out more.

No, right now we're looking for traditional room-by-room maps. Maybe our next contest will be for graphic maps.

whelp there goes my map *tosses it*
Alger2004-12-09 22:03:54
heh actually when i first did that i had an idea of hidden paths shown but lines covered by the top layers. Then some of the other paths are somewhat, well not hidden but not meant to stand out, while some paths seem to be there but not really. It was pretty much an "attempt" to give the map a forest feel by obscuring parts.

But i gotcha, function before astetics thanks

thanks for the compliments... you guys should see the reedit of my girlfriend though i think it was better, changed hue(more glomdoring touch) and the chasm part was finished

Whoa, awesome map! I'd like to see some more of those happy.gif

Especially if they're useable, so, a Little lighter.
Unknown2004-12-10 02:29:13
Whoa... thats awsome.
You should reconsider and try to map stuff for the contest, you could be onto something.
Kaelar2004-12-10 02:39:17
Here I was, thinking my map looked pretty good, when I stumble on this thread and see Alger's. Bah!

tongue.gif Awesome map, by the way. I was thinking about something similar, with a graphic map in the background and rooms over it, but then I realized I couldn't do that if I tried.
Veonira2004-12-10 03:35:35
..I'm with Kaelar. I guess I could...try something like that. But it would probably end up very ugly, so maybe I should just stick to my current map and hope for the best.

cool Maps. o.o
Shiri2004-12-10 18:30:19
*peers* Okay, I guess it's just my PC, but when I tried to look at that one on the deviantart site, it blurred, and died, and stuff. Would it work if I saved it as a paint image or something, y'all? =/
Unknown2004-12-10 18:30:56
I saw it fine..

Save it as a PNG (I think they allow those) or with the "Best Quality" JPG compression.
Daganev2004-12-10 19:46:59
ok, no longer have access to photoshop... oh well.

and I guess that also means Veonira didn't like the picture I sent her... *sniffle*
Unknown2004-12-10 19:48:10
That is a really cool map. But yeah, it is a bit hard to see the rooms. But still very cool! It would be really neat to have an entire Prime Plane map like that.

By the way, when is the map contest going to be over?
Daganev2004-12-10 19:50:01
17th
Unknown2004-12-10 20:05:17
Oooh. Good! Then I'll be able to find my way around a lot easier.
Veonira2004-12-10 20:30:43
Oh no, that picture was very cool. I put it in, I'll send you a copy to check it out.

But I meant that I would never be able to create a background that had the actual city, like roads and buildings and such to make it look like the Glomdoring map, for example. But it does give me something to test out, my photoshop freehand skills aren't too terrible.
