I don't know about the other IRE games, but I know Level 99 characters in Achaea are able to turn into dragons. Is there anything special planned for level 99's here in Lusternia? I heard one person say that level 99's would become Vernal Gods.

"Upon reaching level 99, you will gain the ability to change into a Titan,
granting you new powers and extra health."

So yeah, but apparently theres a level above that, so who knows. Maybe theres room for something more?
Unknown2004-12-06 00:04:59
Ah, silly me.
Unknown2004-12-06 00:10:11
Also, in help levellist, this is odd...

Master of Lusternia (Lvl 96)
First Among the Hosts (Lvl 97)
Lord of Creation (Lvl 98)
Titan (Lvl 99)
??? (Lvl 100?)

From help levels- "There are 100 levels in Lusternia,"

So is the actual name for level 100 ???? I must know!
Ihsahn2004-12-06 01:22:33
It used to be Greater Dragon, so ??? is a notable improvement. I still think it'd be interesting if 100 was Vernal God. The experience to get from 99 to 100 would be worth the improved powers, and people would probably appreciate it more than "Super Titan" or whatever.

I hope what you change into at level 99 isn't so overpowingly lame like the Dragons in Achaea. I like the concepts of the Aspects in Imperian. You reach level 99, and you gain some cool and nifty abilities depending on which aspect of the moon you choose (Change, Terror, or Life), but nothing that is severly unbalancing. Also, the Aspects battle over Monoliths to gain more abilities.

Edit: I mean level 100, in Imperian you become an Aspect at level 100.

I'd hate to see Vernal Gods be level 100. I've always imagined it being, the city/group just picks the one person they think should be a Vernal God, they perform some sort of ritual at the nexus, the nexus is drained of a large amount of power (Maybe 500,000 to 1,000,000?), and boom, you've got yourselves a Vernal God.

From the bottom of 'Coming of Estarra' in the Library:

"... She gathered the seals for safekeeping with the promise that when the seals began to fail, she would release them onto Lusternia for the ultimate ritual whereby the greatest mortal living would wield the seals, and the seals would create from that mortal an Ascended God, the process recharging the seals to protect against the Soulless Gods for another generation."

Bum-bum-BUUUM!

Aye, but I think that means something greater than a Vernal God. Or perhaps that will just be how the first one is formed.

Having no experience with Imperian, I'm not sure what Aspects do. But I agree that it would be really nice to give Titans/Level-100 abilities that don't unbalance combat. Superior stats and various combat abilities has already been done in Achaea.

For example, Titans might gain one or more of:
- Limited access to a second trade skill
- Access to a different area (like the Gare)
- A choice from one of a few unique Titan skillsets (e.g. improved influence, a unique trade skill, etc.)
- The ability to choose to extend one or two skillsets past the transcendent skill. For example, a Titan herbalist might be able to harvest an herb that nobody else can harvest. This might apply to some non-trade skillsets, to give an advantage in influencing or combat without completely unbalancing either.
- A guild-specific extension. For example, a titan aquamancer might summon a "titan" staff instead of the normal coral staff. This could be purely cosmetic.
- An extra loyal entity that is unique to Titans. For example:
QUOTE
The titan Melanchthon thunders in from the east.
A titan stormhawk glides in, sizzling with controlled energy.

The entity doesn't even have to have any combat abilities. Its existence alone has a cool.gif factor. It might also be upgradable (via credits) like a pet.

I think they should set level 100 as a transmortal, extremely powerful and the perfect receptacle for power. Ie, hit the end of level 99 and see the message your body verges on the Transmortal, but you lack power to transform into that which beckons your flesh.

Give them a much larger power reserve capability, and when that much larger reserves is filled, they ascend to Vernal Godhood.
Hazar2004-12-06 06:32:39
Vernal Godhood should be entirely determined by RP. With the aboved mentioned system, we could have Jinxstas and Jhuis as Gods - twits who don't the first thing about roleplay or even history, who just learned to bash.
Dritex2004-12-06 07:08:06
I hope that for the Titan changing, they took some of the ideas we had on the MSN Board. I thought some of those were fairly good.
Unknown2004-12-06 11:11:22
Care to summarize some of those ideas here, Dritex?

Oh, and as for Aspect abilities... I seem to remember the Aspect of Change having some nifty abilities... like being able to change your race, being able to change your sex (at will), no one can farsee or sense your location in anyway should you choose (like the Veil or Cloak artifact from other realms), etc. There were quite a few, some useful, and the more Monoliths you controlled, the more abilities you gained.

What if the max level caps at 99, and to reach 100 you need to convince a city/commune to deplete their nexus to grant you Vernal Godhood? This way it won't really be a single RP event, but how you carry yourself on a daily basis, since you need to convince the members in your city that you are worthy.

Also, we won't have a dozen level 100 characters roaming about Lusternia, or several level 100 characters coming from a single city or guild either (etc Aspects in Imperian were/are all Wardancers)
Richter2004-12-06 17:34:46
I won't keep it a secret ooc that I've been planning somewhat on Richter going down that path. That's part of the reason I care so much what people think about me.

And if someone can find some of those lv. 100 ideas, there were good ones. Mostly submitted by me. tongue.gif

In Greek Mythology, Titans were actually the Elder Gods, (the Generations above the Head God, Zeus.) So they were pretty powerful...I imagined them to be huge and extremely powerful.

Once your body reaches the superior state of the Titan, you are able to choose from the following species of Titan:

Earth Titan - Dark and powerful, these titans wield the powers of the tainted Earth, although it should be noted that the very few earth titans before the attack of Kethuru were very different from the earth titans of before. Can SUMMON QUAKE, causing intense earthquake damage to everyone in a room. Can ROCKSLIDE <> to cause intense damage to and stun anyone in an adjacent room.

Water Titan - Assumed to be seekers of Light, the titans of water oppose their counterparts of earth fiercely. May SUMMON TIDAL, causing intense water damage to everyone in the room. Can WATERBLAST <> to cause intense damage to and stun anyone in an adjacent room.

Fire Titan - CONJURE INFERNO for only room damage, and FIREBLAST for fire damage and setting everyone in the adjacent room on fire.

Air Titan - SUMMON STORM for only room electrical damage, and AIRCUTTER <> to knock over and cause damage to everyone in an adjacent room.

Nature Titan - Preservers of the Wildes, the titans of nature use their nigh-immortal strength to defend nature and all that resides in it. Can SUMMON ANIMALS to call a great myriad of creatures to frenzy everyone in the room. Can LEAFSCYTHE <> to direct a storm of leaves into an adjacent room.

Vernal God at 100 wouldnt work because when the people were first raised into godhood, they were still extreemly weak (of course, they were much more powerful than the normal mortal, but all the same).

When you become a vernal god, you should get abilities to make bashing and other things easier (explains why they became stronger after become a god). However, you shouldnt be forced to be the strongest mortal in the realm when you do ascende.
Unknown2004-12-06 19:03:16
Impressive descriptions of the different elemental Titans, that would actually work well, but I would also A dark and Light Titan for Celestia and Nil. Also more abilites for that and it would be wonderful!
