Food storage

I have an idea for food storage, since I would like to stock up on stat altering foods. First give foragers an ability to build a box, say 4 wood 1 iron.
Then give enchanters the ability in dimensionpockets to enchant maybe a food dish or tupaware? and bam, there ya go a mini rift magical tupaware dish! Maybe not to last forever, but at least for a time long than normal...
What does every one think about that? blink.gif

So say, the stored food lasts double the amount of time as normal food out in the open...

Maybe enchant it with a single freeze to be a refridgerator to double the "stored food" lasting time, or a double freeze for a freezer, to quadruple it. Hmm hmm?

I was thinking about this as an artifact, actually, but I wasn't sure if it'd make things messy. It is a bit of a bother with all food decaying so fast though. (Messy experience with my Achaean fiancee and I losing about 30k gold on that, see.)

I'm just curious as to whether or not it's possible to have food made that lasts longer than a month. Surely designs like... salted pork, or beef jerky,(though more historically appropriate an' stuff) or like... lembas bread happy.gif could be submitted, and then coded to last for 10-15 months when made?

Hmmm. Does wine (heck, anything alcoholic) have this low decay time, too?

And I like the idea of "travel rations." Let there be hardtack!

Yeah, I was totally thinking that food only lasting a month really sucks. Heck I could spend a month lost in the mountains of maddness alone.
