I asked for exactly that almost a year ago to the Charites. Negative response.

Weeeell... since I've never seen them in another game, if you were referring to that, or if you mean the fact that a book triggered my idea, using items that already exist in real life... Yeah, I don't get the thief bit.
In fact, they have swords in many of the books I read, as well as them being a real item, and I think I saw them once in another game. Man, that Estarra, stealing swords, armour, jewelry, etcetcetc from other places. The nerve!

He is talking about making a post in the trademaster board about having boots and guantlets over a year ago.
Richter2006-01-26 22:24:25
Someone made a post about that? I don't remember it... Oh, right, cause it was a year ago.

We could always get locked gauntlets like they do in DnD which means you cant actually drop your weapon, but it would take balance to unwield it.

I thought it didn't always stop you from dropping them.

They could also add armor to the hands/arms, and what about those who dont have grip, i'm pretty sure you can knock staffs, cudgels, daggers, sickles out of peoples hands.

Oo, interesting idea, Hand parry! You defelct hits with your gauntlet in hand.
Unknown2006-01-27 13:01:43
If you have gauntlets and you punch someone, you should have like a 10% chance of breaking their jaw, or breaking their nose.
Simimi2006-01-27 15:55:46
or cracking a rib, or leaving them sterile after you kick them in their happy place...
I like the idea because I always need more clothing that matches..Hoozah for guantlets and boots, with kinky SPIKES TOO!

You could have gauntlets with chains or gloves with straps to hold an object to your hand, making it impossible to drop it or unwield it; opening the straps or chains would take a long time, so they'd have a disadvantage: You wouldn't be able to switch between wielded items while using them. This would be useful for holding staves, sickles, cudgels, and so on. Another cool idea, enchantable gauntlets or gloves that enhance damage caused by Cosmic Fire and changed the damage type. Or enchanted gauntlets that added a very small amount of elemental damage to weapon damage (Not much, maybe 10% of the weapon's damage, if that.)
Tailors would make gloves, while forgers would make gauntlets. There would be little difference between them; gauntlets are more protective but only warriors can wield weapons while using them.
