Thank you!! wub.gif

I must add my own heartfelt thanks to this list! Thanks greatly. Ive played Achaea, Aetolia a bit, and Imperian, and I like Lusternia from the get-go so much more. It has great potential, and is different enough to be greatly cool, but not so different that you are completely lost. Hip-hip horay!
Daganev2004-12-10 20:04:32
I'd also like to say thank you to those behind the scenes people who don't necessarily code but come up with ideas or help with stuff like that.. they never get the limelight.

I'd thank you to Isune, Fain, Terentia, Raezon, Lacostian, Auskelis, Lisarea, Roark, Estarra, and the new emphemrials.

Oh and I would put Lusternia and Imperian on par with eachother, They could each use to steal some ideas from the other. (refering to all the wonderfull talking and furniture abilities in Imperian and its generally higher standards of RP. Not the player's standards, the admins standards)
Lisaera2004-12-10 22:46:13
You could at least spell My name right!

*grin* Actually, it always makes Me smile to see this kind of thread. As for the RP, it has been decided that we won't be enforcing RP as harshly as Imperian from an admin point of view (though any of My followers that don't will find themselves out of My following rather quickly), but that doesn't mean that you can't do it yourselves!

That said, you cannot be publically OOC in any way, We just won't be judging how -good- your RP is.
Amaru2004-12-11 00:44:45
I can't say Lusternia's better than Achaea, cause Achaea is just amazing. It's equally good in different ways, which is a huge achievement in itself considering the amount of people (and money) Achaea gets in comparison.

But however fun Lusternia is, it's damn tough with Celest being so weak (as opposed to Shallam). 'Politics' depresses me.

Lusternia is like...

...rofl.
Ihsahn2004-12-11 04:02:42
Lusternia isn't as rigidly developed as Achaea (yet?). That's the main draw for me at least, and makes it better.
Unknown2004-12-11 04:58:44
Achaea for a few months. My first MUD, ever. First month+ was great as I developed Lorkath.

Imperian, started with a sab when it'd been open a few months. Very... quiet from the get go, just didn't seem like much was going on if you weren't -involved- so to speak. Even though I had a rather major character for a time, while the RP can be great, it only is if you're involved with one of the cliques.
Hazar2004-12-11 08:38:59
Ditto on the cliques. To roleplay on Imperian, you really need to know someone. Sitting around in the tavern and chatting it up only goes so far.

Ahem...back to the topic of the post.

The Divine are...Divine. worthy.gif They work insanely hard, get so many things down I swear they're renting a supercomputer, and still have time to pop out here and chat with us about anything from cows to economic theory. biggrin.gif (Not to mention making fun smilies.)

And the amount of debugging...I'm going to send them a box or two, or three, of aspirin one day. Debugging even a pen and paper RPG takes weeks to do properly, as I can attest, and debugging a constantly changing MUD with an active player base? laugh.gif You're never going to finish*. But they try anyway! And get pretty @#$% close! Awe-inspiring! clap_1.gif

*And those players are a lot less polite about requesting changes then your friends.

I just realized I haven't added something to this thread.

I have found Lusternia to be the singly best world I have ever visited, and I will be forever grateful to the Divine for making it that way. Personally, I love the mythology, the attention to detail and depth, and am amazed at the uniqueness of many of the solutions here.

The admin have been so helpful and quick to respond to any bugs or imbalances, and your effort really shows in the result. I have been to other IRE worlds before, but Lusternia really blows them out of the water, particularly in admin/player relations, anyway.

Of course, the single biggest factor in my addiction is the existence of the Fae.... I love how they are treated here. spoton.gif

So, a big thankyou from me! Keep it up! cheer.gif

Yaaaaaaaaay Divine!

Yes. Lusternia roxors my soxors. It's better than Achaea, Imperian, and Aetolia combined.
Murphy2004-12-21 07:22:31
IU came from Achaea as a mhaldorian snake and monk.

And Damn i love it so much more, I wasn't allthat crash hot a fighter in achaea (Not enough time spent on system) but damn I'm loving lusternia.

Admin do a censor.gif hot job at keeping it all up, and i love the pk rules (just fix the avenger already!)

I played achaea again yesterday when i was pacified......and no friggin way will i be going back! I love the player interaction and refills. Achaea at least lets you get a refill from that bitch in the hut (forgto her name already) but in lusternia you cant get inks without player interaction.

Even mundane tasks like refillling health and mana is fun, specially when you flirt with all the pretty young little refillers IC (IC Murphy is a bit that way, being just about the oldest lusternian there is, and he finds the forestal races most attractive)

I love it, keep up the top work.

PS avenger needs work, let me code it.
Zhaine2004-12-21 07:30:21
I had more fun in my first 3 hours of Lusternia than in all the time I played Achaea.

'nuff said

Lusternia is kicking arse and chewing gum. And they're now fresh outta gum.

Estarra2004-12-21 07:32:00
Thanks, guys! It means a lot to hear a compliment now and then, as sometimes its easy to slip into the 'we must be doing a censor.gif job because all we hear are complaints' syndrome. kiss.gif

By the way, if you don't know, please message Roark directly with issues/bugs related to the Avenger.
Silvanus2004-12-21 07:34:03
Look at my signature, that just about how much explains of how I awesome Lusternia is. Most gods on Aetolia hated me (of course, I am difficult...)
Murphy2004-12-21 07:45:15
Naw I love lusternia, and ill message roark about it in game...still whinging about it here lets me get it off my chest and deal with it rationally.
Thorgal2004-12-21 10:53:35
Well, in just the first three weeks of Lusternia I had more fun than in the three years of Achaea...Lusternia is the most intense and fulfilling game I ever played, I can safely say I'm completely addicted wub.gif .
