Awww I like the anime of Excel Saga, and I've read a couple of the manga too... I'm just really bad at following action in mangas, I need it all animated in front of me to be able to tell what's going on... So something like Gravitation which is all relationships and stuff is fine wub.gif but Excel Saga can get a little too confusing for me dunno.gif

Yeah, but my major pet peeve is that they add so much filler to animes, but they also cut out a lot of the good stuff. Like with chobits they spend an entire episode on how hideki has to teach chi how to wear sunscreen or else she can't go swimming.. now really I don't think they even mentioned that in the manga.
ooers one thing with Excel saga is that in the anime they curse like every other word, but in the manga they might say 'damn' twice per book..

plus I like the pictures wub.gif
Shoshana2005-06-03 07:29:30
Yeah, I've got the first DVD of Chobits and it does seem mostly fanservice... I like my fanservice with a little more plot, like Mai HiME, which is excellent biggrin.gif.

Interesting, I didn't really notice the swearing in Excel Saga (Although it was a while ago that I saw it). Were you watching subs or the dub?

Oh, something I saw a little bit of recently which was excellent is Azumanga Daiyo (Which I think I just spelled completely wrong...). It has no storyline to speak of, it's just little 15 minute or so stories about this group of girls in highschool and two of their teachers, and it's hilarious. Osaka's by far my favourite wub.gif.

was the dubbed.. the voice for excel drives me insane. T_T I can't stand it. I've never seen that. Does it have an english translation? Like how Kare Kano is His and Her cirumstances?

Appleseed's the newest good anime I picked up.

Flame of Recca is a huge favorite... I love it. Don't see what was "bad" with it

and lastly... Akira. Mmm love his bike.

Oh yeah, Esca gets honorable mention for the flying scenes.

Record of Lodoss War and Inuyasha are favorites too.

Waiting for Full Metal Alch to show up at my house.

Flame of Recca isn't bad.. if you sit and read all 33 volumes, if you only sit and watch the episodes, you'll pull your hair out at the end of it since the ending was so poorly done (not even the ending, ugch)

And you bastard with your money.. I'd be angrier.. except I've already watched all of full metal alchemist.. but I still need to buy the dvds! ::waits patiently for otakon and hopes car doesn't break down before then::

Sure thing, Fuzzy Eyebrows biggrin.gif

But yeah, at one point, I thought Hellsing was ok.. it was when it was first released and I only saw up to like the 7th episode or so. Then I got the dvds and actually watched it. I dunno, it seemed so cliche and somehow dull the second time around, I just went and sold the dvds and box I had.. can't remember what I bought in return.. Furuba dvds or maybe Crest of the Stars... whistling.gif

Let's stalk him and throw snowballs at him until he agrees to watch 10 episodes of Bleach under supervision.

Everyone's talking about Bleach! Maybe I should start downloading... the anime on TV is getting boring, no action sad.gif So many animes, holy poop, how will I find time to ever watch them all >.<

Yes, watch Bleach. I'm putting it in as tied for best anime I've seen with FMA. Last Exile's coming close though, it's nice. Although, a little lacklustre at points. They missed out explaining a few things.

And because half of them don't have working torrents going, that's how. ranting.gif
Shoshana2005-06-04 06:28:03
Yeah, well, that would be because Last Exile's licensed... Same reason you can't find FMA torrents too easily.

And FMA is soooo much better than Bleach tongue.gif And I know I've only seen 15 or so episodes of Bleach, but the reason I haven't seen more is because it didn't grab me nearly as much as FMA did right from the beginning.

No one else has seen Samurai Champloo? It's absolutely brilliant. Hysterically funny, although it doesn't really have a storyline to speak of it doesn't really need one (It does have character development, which comes close to some semblance of a plot...).

Man. Bleach grabbed me more at the beginning than ANY other anime so far. I expected it would be crap with a name and intro sequence like it did. (Nice music though.) But I love the ghost and Shinigami theme it has.

Also, Last Exile was easy to find a torrent of, it's other ones I'm talking about. Also, Gantz is ungodly slow to download for some reason. And I haven't seen Samurai Champloo. I probably should. dry.gif
Sylphas2005-06-04 22:13:46
1. Read or Die
2. GTO
3. Azumanga Daioh
Unknown2005-06-04 22:17:43
Samurai Champloo rocks.
Especially the episode with graffitiers. smile.gif
I think it's from the same studio as Cowboy Bebop (not sure though).
Melanchthon2005-06-04 22:27:22
Hmm...best thing I've seen recently is Koi Kaze, which is really starting to grow on me.

Kaze no Tani no Naushika still ranks as my all-time favorite.
Unknown2005-06-04 22:30:59
Best thing I've seen lately was Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Great story.
Unknown2005-06-04 23:02:36
Bleach is awesome. I'm up to Episode 4 so far...and looking forward to more of them.
