True, and now that Rukia's back on earth, it's going to be worse, damn i'm half wishing they would have just had a break and just left it so we could have the proper series instead of filler crap.

Yeah, I totally hate that. Bleach really could've used a break at least for three or four months to give the manga a bit more of a jump without the .
Rukia also should be obliterated by a random Hollow and never mentioned in Bleach again. Please, Kubo! Bring back the Don too.
I wonder how the new openings are going to be. Naruto needs a female artist, but it needs a dark song. With.. a lot of rain in the opening, and and.. heavy acoustic undertones in the song.
Shiri2006-02-21 11:49:37
No, don't bring back the Don! The Don is annoying as hell!
Rukia is cool too...
And Naruto just needs to be a bit less corny, I think.

Boooooy! XD Okay, maybe you're right (But I liked him! "Spirits are always with you. Bwahaahaha!!")
Rukia is not cool! She's such a burden and an annoyance. Kubo's only mistake is not killing her in Soul Society. I doubt he ever will..
Naruto isn't cooorny. Is.. it? Explaaaiiiin!
Shiri2006-02-21 12:00:25
Well. I'm not conceding on the Don, he pisses me off royally.
Rukia, meh...she -would- be cool maybe if she weren't crippled and such...but didn't Raezon and such say she stopped that in the manga? So it should happen in the anime later!
And Naruto is -totally- corny. It makes me cringe sometimes. Like uh. That whole episode where Naruto beat up Neji in the exam thing I forget the name of because it's been like six months since I watched it. (Or I should say episodeSSSS because they like to really stretch it out ).
Still cool anyway, just not my preference. I'm loving Monster by the way. It's one of the more serious anime I've ever watched, good stuff. Oh and I just downloaded Scrapped Princess ep 1, watching that later I think.

Monster? I'll have to check that out.
Bleh.. Rukia (since you did hear a little) does stop looking helpless momentarily, but it really brings up many questions. Also, due to her character's past traits it really seems like Kubo is just making up for her lack of power, but with the way the story is progressing she should either disappear again or gain strength that's beyond "experienced" captain-level to keep up in the story.
And OMG, NO IT ISN'T! Yes, it's true Naruto only won that fight via hero-clause, but it wasn't that cheap of him. He did use some strategy, but I guess I could agree that breaking through Neji's "ultimate" finisher with Kyuubi chakra was lame. I'd say part 2 has some more realistic features in it now that they're not building Naruto up to have people respect him.
Bleh. I'll be back to finish this! Probably looks jumbled since I rushed.
Shiri2006-02-21 12:22:56
1. Yeah, Monster is pretty good. It's not fantasy either, it's set in Germany and is about a Japanese doctor and a serial killer.
2. I don't even remember wtf you're talking about, but the point isn't how he won, the point is about all the...the crap they say afterwards. Where they try to sound wise. And fail miserably. It makes Shiri sad.

Rukia is quite powerful. It's just that, from the very beginning, she already had that thing inside her soul and it was making her weak.
Shiri2006-02-21 13:23:59
It was making her weak? I thought it just...wasn't making her any stronger. I don't remember anyone explaining that. Did it say more detail about it in the manga?
EDIT: OMG. The new closing theme to Monster SUCKS. Oh well. The anime is getting good around where I am...(ep 33.) That last one was really scary.

Aizen said so during the finale, that it was making her weaker and weaker and would turn her into a mundane human eventually. That was Uruhara's way of disposing of it, it would vanish with her powers or something. I don't remember exactly.
Shiri2006-02-21 13:34:07
Hmmm. I'll have to rewatch that episode.

She didn't have it until she received the gigai from Urahara so it really doesn't explain her reaction time with the Hollow. Even though that only happened so Ichigo could get his Shinigami power it still doesn't excuse her lack of skill in terms of story.
Her current power isn't all that great either.

No, hougyoku was hidden in her soul, not in a gigai. When Aizen removes it from her she's in her own body (unless she was still in that gigai in Soul Society, but why would she?). It doesn't explain when he put it in her though so I don't know. That gigai he created was supposed to hide her and deteriorate her powers until she becomes an ordinary human, so I guess you might be right about that.
And, her Shikai looked quite powerful, I wouldn't judge her so quickly.
Unknown2006-02-21 23:12:20
Rukia wasn't in the Gigai in soul society, since you see in either the manga or the anime, them taking it apart and talking about how much of a rare find it is or somesuch.
Richter2006-02-22 00:34:33
Is this thread still going? I think I read the first page ages ago, and nothing else. Sheesh.
Unknown2006-02-22 00:43:03
The Hou Gyoku was IN the gigai and had been bound to her soul that way, which is why Urahara was so adamant about her needing one from him. His whole plan was to use her as a sacrifice to hide it from potential "evil doers" since once she eventually became human it'd be undetectable.
I'm not going to discuss her power further since Shiri hasn't read the manga, but if you can truly say that her current power can take her through the rest of Bleach then I just don't know what to say. Despite her power and any improvement she could make, in theory everyone should be able to plow past her in strength (Even if they all use the same training method) since they have more than she does now.
Of course Kubo is going to out and end up making her a captain or a vice by the time the series is over just because she's Rukia.

Eh maybe, i'm pretty sure she got her ass kicked in the Manga, and well currently on earth, Rukia could kick Ichigo's ass mainly since, Ichigo cant use his Bankai at thus current point in the anime, which is kind of retarded, but not.
So all in all, i cant wait until they get up to the manga part in the anime, same with Naruto cause you know, Naruto's just going to be awesome when it's finally out of filler.

Has anyone ever watched the movie "Spirited Away"? I love it
It was my first anime movie

Yup, I think we discussed it about 40 pages ago. By Miyazaki, so it's bound to be good. But it does not beat Mononoke Hime.

I really reccomend the anime Golden Boy to anyone who needs a good laugh. It's somewhat older, and there's only like 6 episodes, but it is totally worth watching. I lolled, for serious.
