Has anyone ever watched the movie "Spirited Away"? I love it
It was my first anime movie
Ah yes: Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi
Was, I think, the first anime I ever saw at the cinema.
Hmm, way back in 2001?
Unknown2006-02-24 09:43:49
I've never actually seen it, i tried to watch it a few times on TV, but i was always like, eh, what.. no, and just changed the channel. Though the Cowboy Bebop movie, i mean, i taped that cause it's like awesome.

Hush you... I found it in a rush... didnt have time to do silly things like pay attention to an internet site now did I?

Eeee...Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien is one anime I hope I never have to watch again in my entire life. That show isn't just depressing, it's life threatening. Ye gods. I find it odd to this day that people actually know what it is though...I figured my roommate and I were the only two to have ever watched it. Even among our anime circle it's just him and I. Bah.
On a side note, why is it that so many good anime were originally Hentai Games? What the hell?

O yea its crazy depressing I spent most of the time watching it sniffing and crying. Its they way they’ve done it everything’s going great and happily then bam something really sad happens one way or another pretty suddenly but with just enough time to let you see it coming and get all teary eyed again. No sad love story i've seen has been as emotional as this yet. Very sad though and if you’ve not seen it im definatly recomending it.

Random thought: I watched FMA as an anime and it was golden. Now I am reading the manga and it is pure platinum. Having read 10+ absolutely hilarious and/or thrilling episodes in a row, I am stumbling around the forum in a mental equivalent of being both drunk and bloated at the same time. I think I will call it the FMA high. EDIT: Or the Bursar Effect, for Discworld fans. Every thread is funny to me now (I just laughed my ass off at Narsrim's one about herbs), so don't mind me.

Well... let's see...
there are some things I want to say..
First anime I watch was saint seiya from there on I was hooked..
along that there were others such as Candy Candy - a silly girly cartoon I watched as a kid and kinda enjoyed(I AM NOT GAY ).. remembered seeing it at 4 pm when it was hot and I was around 5 years old, damn sometimes I fell asleep with that thing turned on... OMG ANTHONY!!!
there was this other one, Queen Millenia... Only true geeks know about this one, and me, who got into it by pure chance - again a girly anime... it was cool and I want to watch it again, maybe I could appritiate it more as I am 14 years older.
Also, good ol' Mazinger Z.. who doesn't love Mazinger Z!
Then the good ol' days ended(80's).. a couple of years later when I was seven(92ish) saw Robotech reruns... hooked on it... Macross rules all...
Also around that time I saw for the first time two cartoons that changed my life(along with Saint Seiya).. Dragon quest and Dragonball.. Good ol' Goku and Fly were my heroes in those times of elementry school...
Then years passed.. TV ran Dragonball around 5 or so years until Dragonball Z came out.. it was teh new shizznit.
With Dragonball Z running on the background of my anime life, I also began to watch new series with great animation and all round style... Escaflowne was perhaps my favorite, so damn cool(again, girly cartoon, kinda.. ehh.. My gf has the movie tho, and I constantly watch it ), there were others, BT'X, Zenki, Samurai Warriors and otherss.. good ol' times
after that, suddenly, anime was over for me.. no outlets, no info, nothing.. I watched Digimon and Pokemon and that was about all the anime I could get..
T.V. got crappier than ever... and I went recluse, void of T.V.
now, with internet I got my Naruto and Bleach.. and god do they rule...
so that's it.. whatcha think?
PS: FMA Manga >>>>> FMA Anime

My Neighbor Totoro was the first anime I ever saw, when I was about 5 and it looked cute so I rented it.
And I want to note that I watched Paranoia Agent and s-CRY-ed over break, and am in love. I also have an obsession with Pilot Candidate for whatever reason, I got the DVD set for my birthday but didn't get a chance to finish watching them. Also have the entire Samurai Champloo and some other random animes on dvd's at home. <3 DC++ at college.

Paranoia Agent is awesome, kind of wish they'd have wrapped up the ending though, since no way are they making a sequel out of that so leaving it so obscure is annoying.
I need to watch the rest of Scryed.

If anyone knows what the bloody hell my sig is, tell me. Anything that screwed up has to be good.
Incidently, I've been watching Hellsing/Bleach quite a bit lately. Well, bleach, because Hellsing is a completed series, and all that. As far as I know.

That's My Neighbour Totoro, the one Veo mentioned. Featuring Totoro and the Catbus.

Hot, I love Alucard.
(Well, not the smoking, but yeah, any addition or just redoing of Hellsing = good)
Scryed is really good, finish watching immediately!
Shiri2006-02-28 07:29:49
Well I'll have to finish downloading it first, still trying to get the rest of FMP, Trinity Blood, Monster (did you see that yet KidHendrix?) and Baldur's Gate 2...not that that's an anime, but I wanna beat it again.
Unknown2006-02-28 07:44:43
I've been looking for Berserk download, even though i'm not 100% sure if there's actually an anime or not, though i'm awaiting Air Gear, when it finally comes out.

I'd recommend anything by Studio Ghibli.
I even tend to prefer some of the less well known films to the big hits like Mononoke Hime and Sen to Chihiro...
Omohide poro poro and Umi ga kikoeru for example.
I though Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Paranoia Agent were both good (in very different ways).
Another recentish series I liked was Ai shiteruze Baby! (very sweet).
