Well, it wasn't a bad episode... well, it was when compared to others. I liked the expression on Ed and Al's faces when they saw the hospital/church/school demolished down though.
That's why you read the manga. No annoying fillers, awesome characters are more awesome, annoying characters (Winry) stop being annoying. Plus, they have ninjas. We all love ninjas.

There were only two filler episodes in all of FMA, out of 51, the other one being the hilarious pamato episode, so I really can't complain. Still, I vastly perfer 26 episode series since they never have filler at all.
I should read the manga... have a copy you can send me, or a link to where I can get it?

It doesn't seem to be working on my comp. I hope it's only because this particular computer has its system messed up. It used to work before though.

Incidentally, a friend of mine was looking for the Faeries' Landing manga (which I can't find online through my usual means) so if anyone knows where to get hold of that for her it'd be appreciated.
EDIT: Also, you guys should watch Noein, it really -is- good!
(And Hyper Police is amusing in the same kind of way as Slayers, in case anyone was interested.)

Umm at which manga chapter does the anime series (FMA) leave off at? (if they even still followed a remotely similar storyline)
And Cuber, I had coincidently just visited that site and it said the scans were just previews and you had to pay for the full version? edit: apparently they're different websites but use same reader, ok!
Addition: Aahhh just finished the anime! So... bittersweet *tear* So the anime and manga are very different? Should they just be regarded as totally seperate entitites then, before I start to torture myself finding all the similarities and differences? Well gonna go get a copy of the movie and then start on the reading

They're very similar for a long time, and then diverge at a certain point like 2/3 through the series, or so I'm told, having not read the manga.

Might want to skip bleach 78. It released a swarm of viruses (and a script kiddy) onto my pc. He was even typing into some irc channels and chat windows and and..
Meh. I spent hte last 7 hours trying to clean it off, then reformatting. Lost everything bar the 12 cds of mp3's I managed to back up after I was sure they were clean. Sad Yrael. Anyway, scanning it before running showed nothing, so watch out.

Speaking of which...do you even still have my MSN? I was going to send you the files for Shakugan but I can't seem to find you on my list...I have too many people there.
I rarely log on MSN now. I'm mostly an AIM person at the moment, but I don't even use that much.
I didn't like the ending, by the way. It was too... easy? Throughout the whole series I was waiting for Yuji to use that damn sword too and when he did it only lasted like 30 seconds.

To all you who are dissing the Bleach filler... You have to admit that that the fight in 79 was pretty awesome as far as fill goes.
Hrm, don't get the impression that I like all anime though, there is this one advertisement on my of my sister's Box set's of Inuyasha, the premise is this:
"What do you do when the woman you love is a weapon of mass destruction?"
Then it shows a 8-10 year old scantily clad, well endowed girl with a 17-19 year old guy, she is crying and firing missiles out at fighter planes and houses and stuff, and he's looking at her oddly.
It scared me and cracked me up at the same time.

No, it wasn't awesome. What's awesome, is the fight in 38/39 (Zaraki). Or the fight with Byakuya.
Unknown2006-05-11 22:30:32
Byakuya fight seemed so much better in the manga for some reason, but I can't deny the awesomeness.
Whenever Bleach Filler is over (Probably by the Fall) you'll see some awesome happenings. I've lost hope with Naruto's return though.
Someone recommend an action-anime? I could deal with the occasional comedic series too, but I need something upbeat to keep me entertained.

I fully agree I loved enough of the anime though, so it's okay

Hmm, action anime isn't my thing, I perfer the genre my circle of friends call mind- , but I do watch some from time to time...
Mai HiME was great, but the good action scenes don't start until ep 17 of 26.
Full Metal Panic was fun, and the comedic scenes were hilarious. The original series and second raid were action with comedy mixed in, fumoffu was pure comedy and quite terrible. I do recommend the first and second seasons as a fun watch.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is awesome if you like episodic things, or JD Salinger's novel, Catcher in the Rye.
Vandread, I found to be fun, upbeat action/comedy anime.
I'd say Scrapped Princess, but I found the action scenes to be terrible - the plot was great though.
And I'll have to include Read or Die (the OVA and the tv series), just because dramatic action scenes where people are fighting with weapons made out of paper is just awesome I loved the mission impossible-esque episode of RoD TV so much, too bad the ending was meh and had no awesome paper duels like the middle had

I suppose you could say Noein is kinda action-style...there's bits of it anyway. Try that out.
And I hold that Scrapped Princess is too good to miss even if the action is terrible, by the way. I just wish it friggin' downloaded faster! SEED, PEOPLE.
(And yeah, the ending to Shakugan no Shana was pretty poor. So I can't be bothered watching the movie.)
EDIT: Also, Shorlen, I don't know what I'm missing but I only get the sound of the KAA RoD, no video.

Series that make you go, "WTF is going on?" The classic example being Evangelion, though I didn't like that at all. RahXephon is the best I've seen of that genre. Noein falls in this category, I'd say, and FLCL does as well if you look at the underlying plot and not the silliness.

What player are you using? I use Media Player Classic to play .mkv files. Here is a link to their sourceforge site:

Ack, hard to decide, but heres my faves:
1. InuYasha
2. Full Metal Alchemist
3. Angel Sanctuary
4. Model
5. Love Hina
6. Naruto
7. Gundam Seed
8. ....One that i wrote but have never published: Torn Between Worlds
Torn Between Worlds is about two girls who are in love with each other, but their lives have been distroyed because of the taint..... They see their options and decide to go to school at a very famous Alchemy school.
This school is far, far away.
Do they reach their destination, or are they killed in a lethal battle with the taint?

One becomes tainted, oh the moral dillemas.
